Pete Postlethwaite as G-man.
Clint Eastwood as every combine soldier.
Mark Hamill as Barney.
Keanu reeves/Hayden Christensen as Gordan Freeman (He isnt allowed to express any emotion, so he couldn't fuck it up. That, or grimsprices Hugh Laurie.)
Merle dandridge as Alyx (I'm not being boring. If you imagine Alyx with long hair, It's her. Really.)
Hugo weaving as "the G-man". Yes. Yes. Yes.
The guy that made R2-D2's voice as dog
Morgan Freeman as Eli. Of course. Maybe he could do little voice overs too...
Robert Culp as Dr Breen (Is old enough to pass it of, and PLAYED RAY ROMANOS DAD!!!!!ZOMG)
Robert Llewellen as Kliener. Nuff said.
Ricky Tomlinson (with a russian accent) as Father Gregori
David Tennant as Odessa Cubbage (He can do a very good RP accent, he did one in Einstein & Eddington.)
Michelle Forbes with red hair as Judith Mossman
Adam sandler as Barney? No? Yes? No?
Tony todd as the voice of the Vortigaunts
Whoever worked out the Xen creatures/zombies etc noises as the Xen creatures/zombies etc noises.
Ellen McLain as the Combine overwatch radio stuff.
Magnussun wouldn't come in until the second sequel, but when he does, Chris barrie plays an excellent arrogant prick.
A bunch of no-name extras: The citizens/rebels/refugees
A dead guy as Laszlo.

Morgan Freeman as Eli Vance. Neil Patrick Harris as Barney (Lol jokes). That guy who played Dr Emmet Brown as Kliener (I think the character was actually inspired by Doc, great scot!). Simon Pegg as Gordon Freeman himself. Christopher Lee as Dr Breen. John Cleese as that Colonel Odessa or whatever (I'm mainly riunning this as a movie of half life 2 by the way). And that's about all I can think of right now.
Half life is a movie, so your thread makes little sense, im not sure if they have definitively cast gordon yet. Heres the first part of an amazingly made trailer. I think gordon is in it for a second. I think they cast alyx really badly (shes the blonde).

It means God in the machine, its from greek plays where they couldnt think of an ending so they would lower a "God" down in a "machine" to say "everythings ok i saved him". Now it means flimsy plot device. I thought it meant something deep amount the perfection of machines but aparently not.
