If it was up to you to design the next Final Fantasy game...

Would you keep the concept as it is?

Well I would do it the way it's been done from the first game: You make a game that is close to completely different from the previous FF-titles.
I would stick with some of the core elements of the gameplay, but try to make it more floating to pick up the pace. (But itseems like they have done that in 13)
For a story I would go for the magic/tecnology world that has been presented in several ways since FF6. My version would be more of a steampunk and the storyline would focus on a conflict between factions of magic and tecnology.

I'd cast the fighting aside, and make a chocobo-race game with a mean dude who wants to take your moms house if you don't get the gils enough to buy it back. And once you've finally got the gils, rainbows will swoop down, unicorns will ride in and people will lift the hero up like it was a Hanukkah.

1) multiplatform 2) Like FF7-8 But with more non linear gameplay 3) Let you have Friends Control Ai's In combat, Not an MMO just Online Co-op, 4) What ever improvements I can make on the FF12 combat. 5) No random battles ever 6)Jobs from FFT 7)Invent someway to skew the balance of the game over to skill and less about grinding the living hell to get points. 8) Monster hunting was awesome

Basically fix the things that annoy me like, sissy girly boy male charaters, repetative combat where everthing is solved in the same way, no tactics, Grinding.

OT: I would keep the random encounters, but take a page from FFVIII and give you an ability to obliterate them if you see fit. Only I would give you it from the get-go, or at the very least, as early as possible.

Meaning the players who dislike walking 5 feet onto the overworld and being bombarded by a flying panda won't need to suffer through it, and those who do will.

Also: Chocobos. They are there for a reason - To be fucking awesome. Use them.

I would remake FF7 with good graphics, to watch the fanboy cash roll in. Then just when it starts to slip in the sales I'll hint that there is a secret way to save Aeris. Cue more money before telling them that I was fibbing. Then I laugh all the way to the bank...chortle chortle.

Your some guy working a dead end job in some high tall rise building when you get a phone call, your sisters been taken into hospital and they are flying in the leading white mage to curara her. Just as you leave someone falls past your window and splats on the ground.
two days after your sister has gone missing and no one else remembers the guy falling.
You leave in search of the truth and your sister, across many lands and seas through the under world and end up back where you started.
You fight your way to the now heavily guarded tower which you used to work, where you talk with the CEO who claims he is innocent, but you know better all the evidence points to him. Just as your about to fight him, the mutated figure of your sister bursts through the window and attacks you with black magic etc.
After you have defeated her and laid her to rest you assassinate the CEO. a man walks in through the doors and congratulates you on succeeding with his plan, it's the CEOs son and it was him pulling the strings of your whole journey (with flash backs of him in various towns you visited) all to gain control of the company.

Not sure how to end it, i'll leave it up to you

I'd make it so you had a huge cast of great characters, all with an actual real backstory (like FFVI), be able to wander around as any of these characters in a town as such, not just choose the wimpiest one have that guy be the avatar fr your journey (the opposite of FFXII) make friends able to play as other characters, not just AI's (like in FFIX) and make sure they've got someone good composing the music (including, but not limited to Nobuo Uemasu or Takeharu Ishimoto) and an open world to explore.

Also, a plot. That's what I'd make it have. A world wide threat to defeat, or people to save, or a crystal to discover, something like that. I'd play that game.

i'd open the option for a friend to play as one of my party members, like in final fantasy 4. i'd make the setting on earth in the present, and throw in government agents.

i'd put in the feminine looking hero because there would be a reason why he looks that way. a crazy reason involving genetic manipulation and world domination.

two endings, either the world is yours and you have to fight off some protagonists, or you are the protagonist fighting the evil overlord.

chocobos would be a figment of the main characters imagination, and the character will grow stats according to how the player plays.

oh and i would do what chrono cross did as far as having a bunch of party combinations to choose from.
