I would have gotten better grades and got into a better university... Although, my online spelling, grammar and punctuation would be much worse without it.

Well, okay, there is a shit ton of other stuff, and besides, I firmly believe in the "the smallest change can change the world" thing, so yeah, I believe that even had I come onto the Escapist later, and for a shorter time, it still would've changed (or will change) something(s) in my life in a significant manner.

Without the Escapist, my innate love of geek culture would have withered and died. I would be a far less happy person than I am now.
I never would have gotten into TV Tropes. We all know about TV Tropes As A Gateway Drug, so you understand that I never would have used Netflix to watch Dexter, or Doctor Who, and I would have no idea who Joss Whedon is.
Overall, being an Escapist has improved my life, giving me a place to learn about awesome movies, laugh at the flaws in games, and has given me greater self-confidence. Ironically, I am a much more socially competent person now that I have discovered this website and its forums.

Well, it seems that I came on a little strong there. But it is true. I'm a very different person now that I've found the Escapist, and for that I'm grateful.
