Isn't the phrase "fictional superheroes" in the title kind of redundant? I mean, are there some non-fictional superheroes I don't know about?

Anyway, I'm going to go with Iron Man for the same reasons as everyone else. I don't want Superman randomly deciding to kick the planet into the sun.

Captain America. Because
A: I am an American
B: He is the nicest man alive.
C: I AM AN AMERICAN!

He also has a badass theme song.

Green Lantern. He can go anywhere, even space so protection from asteroids etc. On earth he'd basically unstoppable, any threat to us, even from ourselves, he could handle quickly and efficiently. Also if he were to ever die the power ring literally chooses the best(well bravest) person on the planet to replace him ensuring a good Green Lantern always.

Thor. Just to frak with the religious. Proof of a real god, where is your god now?

Otherwise, Captain America. But the 80s and 90s one, not the modern one written by Millar and made into a giant jerk.

Thor. Because where he's from magic and science are one and the same. And his science can produce hammers inside of stars.

Iron Man - because Tony Stark occasionally releases some of his wonderful technology for the good of his fellow humans and we could really do with alternative energy sources right now.

Deadpool.

He might be mad and homocidal but he still does it because he thinks he is an hero!

That or the punisher.
