If sequels were banned what would you miss most?

Well if we're talking all sequels in all media forms then that's actually a really depressing thought.

George R.R. Martins epic A Song of Ice and Fire couldn't possibly be told in one book.

Terminator 2 which is just made of win would be gone.

Without sequels there would be no RE4 and no RE4 means no Devil May Cry.

The list just goes on.

I'm beginning to hop on board the "sequels should be banned" train. While a few good sequels exist, most of them truly are not as good as the original.

I wouldn't even call Call of Duty 2 or any of The Legend of Zelda games "sequel" because the storyline in Call of Duty or any of the Zeldas is an independent story not at all dependant on any preceding story or setting up any future one.

...I did enjoy Halo 2's story, so I guess I'd miss that one; then again, if sequels were banned, Halo 2's story wouldn't have ended on the cliffhanger it did.

Now that I stop and think of it, these people always carrying on about how sequels suck and say they should be banned, really need to stop and think about how many sequels are actually amazing. I grew up with most of the sequels I listed, and banning them would be a crime amongst itself.

Metal Gear Solid 1 and 3, above all others. I'd miss MGS2 as well, but not as much as those. And, yeah, Half-Life 2.

Also, the Halo series, but not for the reasons you think. Without the sequels, Red vs Blue wouldn't have gotten as completely fucking awesome as it did.

I would miss Silent Hill 2 as well as Project Zero (Fatal Frame to you Americans,) 2 and 3 as the series itself was very atmospheric as well as a great game to play. I've also really enjoyed Team Fortress 2 a lot lately so I would miss that also.

I certainly wouldn't miss Halo 2 and 3 as well as most of the Call of Duty series.

Half Life 2 and its Episode sequels, System Shock 2, Serious Sam (all of the sequels), Team Fortess 2, most The Legend of Zelda games, Call of Duty (most of them), Monkey Island 2...

If all sequels were banned, the person who did it would be dead in three days, but if he kept the good ones the guy would be praised, IMO.

Personally, the one I'd miss most is Pokemon Gold. There are plenty others I'd miss, such as Civilization 4 and GTA IV, but Gold I'd miss the most.

I'd miss looking forward to the new (although probably disappointing) Final Fantasy games and Atlus sequels. There are a couple of action and comedy titles that I would probably miss in cinema as well (I am still looking forward to Jurassic Park 4, whenever they decide to restart shooting that one).
