You pull out the medical kit and field knife so you can pry out the bullet that is lodged in your thigh. Failure means bleed out, success means limited mobility until better medical attention is attained, ignoring the wound means limited mobility until bleedout/infection sets in and you die.

They would probably be pretty boring, even actual violence is kinda boring, just a bunch of guys hiding behind things taking the ocasional pot shot at each other. This is the reason for regenerating health.
So here it goes. Months of walking through the desert, followed by months of recovery in the hospital because some jackass shot you when you werent paying attention. Worst of all they wont chop off your arms and replace them with robotic ones.

You are one of up to 12 other personal required for each infantry soldier. You spend you time looking over shipping manifests, making boring transcontinental flights, etc. You never see combat.

You are in fact a combat MOS. You drill in the morning, run patrols, burn a bit of free time and sleep. You never get into a firefight.

Yahtzee did something about it where he said something about where siad you would get shot and then laid out for a few months.

So bsically that. Or there wouldnt be second chances.

This was partially because of the training, as far as I know, them not being given the psychological attitude to kill like a lot of modern soldiers are.

You can even roleplay personnel other than grunts if you want.

Make your bed. Get out of Basic. Get flown to a war zone. Do some drills. Go on patrol. Clean your rifle. Do some drills. Do some drills. Ride in a vehicle a lot. Do some drills. Go on patrol some more. Do some drills. Go home.
