If Signatures were allowed.....

I was kind of saddened when i first noticed that signatures were disabled. If they were allowed I would probably have some of my favorite quotes from some historic figure that I'm interested in. What would you have in your signatures? would you have your favorite quote? or a misleading link to that rick-rolled video on you-tube? or perhaps even a link to your submitted reviews? or perhaps something entirely different?

I'm one of those old fuddy duddies that hate signatures!, I only ever saw one inspired sig, a guy called Zoolander had "Quotes are for people who try to appear more intelligent"

Clearly I hate to quote him in my sig.

Can somebody explain to me what the point of signatures is? I have one at the moment on the BioWare forums, but that was only so I could be part of the hilarious BioWare Bazaar shit-storm. Apart from that I cannot imagine any use for them other than cluttering up people's eyes.

I hate signatures, and I hate it when people quote funny things I've said as their signatures, especially when they attribute the quote to me.
I say what I say for my own reasons, not to be a bumper sticker.

I think sigs just take up space without really contributing anything. They also make the page look cluttered, which this site has managed to avoid so far.

Signatures are pointless. They clutter, they don't mean anything and right now I'm capped and if Sigs were enabled I wouldn't be able to load a single page.

To be honest I don't really see the hate towards Sigs. Sure, some people don't like them but a lot of people here go beyond that. They act like Sigs killed their mentor figure and they swear revenge.
