I hate Home. In attempting to create a virtual space they ensured that all functionality inherent is actually worse for the effort. Why would I want to physically navigate a space to find an item I want when I could just select it from a menu.

That said, I think PSN could make just a few changes to make it more appealing:

Cross Game Chat: I can either use the out of game client to talk to a single person or the system the game provides. I've learned after long experience that the only people I really want to talk to are the ones on my friends list anyhow in games.

Better friend management: While functional, the system is slipshod at best. Inviting a friend to a game for example is an act that varies enormously in every game you play.

Better Network Reliability: It isn't awful by any stretch but I have been booted from PSN on a great many occasions due to a PSN hiccup.

If those three things were resolved I would be perfectly satisfied with PSN. Now that I have a PS3 controller in the style of the 360 one of my major hurdles has already been overcome. For some reason the Dual Shock 3 just makes my hands hurt when I use it for more than an hour or so.

This guy... knows what he's talking about. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I keep seeing arguements about the features of XBL and PSN instead of the features of their consols...

What I'm trying to say is: why have a system with 1/3 the titles if even that, with only 1/30 or so being for the PS3 specifically, when the Xbox offers a ton of games, and a lot of microsoft-only games, with online access for the price of a double bacon cheeseburger combo at a fast food joint? (give or take a couple bucks)

Don't get me wrong, I have a PS3 (though I mostly use it as a blu-ray player) and I enjoy the free internet, and large number of online people, as well as the playstation home feature, but when it comes down to it...

Well, lets just say that I can get a burger without anything else for free from sony, or I can get a burger with condiments and fries from microsoft by paying for it.

The home feature adds a more "human" experience to it all, but when I'm playing something, and want to go straight to the action, I don't usually want that human experience.

That's my stance on this whole thing anyways.
