If the escapist was gone forever, what site would you go to?

The /v/idya. I mean you could do a lot worse. The Escapist is the best, but /v/ sometimes has mature discussion, along with humor and wit, which is much more than could be said for some other sites.

Hmmm. I kinda found my place here. I've tried various Australia-based forums, but never really found my place there. I might try to get back onto Abandonia, that was a pretty cool haunt for a discussion, and had fantastic content; they distribute abandonware, like Home of the Underdogs (dunno if HotU is still up, it was going through a really rough patch around the time I left). Their sister site, Abandonia: Reloaded was also quite good, focusing on freeware and a few retro remakes. In fact, some to think of it, Abandonia was the first time I ever came across a Yahtzee game, 5 Days a Stranger. After that, I became interested in Yahtzee, and eventually came across the work he did on the Escapist. So, technically, my time on Abandonia is indirectly responsible for leading me to the Escapist. Funny, that.

I left Abandonia when they changed the layout, which just really pissed me off for some reason I have yet to fathom.
