World of Warcraft. I have some reasons behind this.
There are endless possibilities in the changes in political power, and to be a soldier, no matter how generic, fighting for the future of my race/faction would be extremely satisfying. Also on that note, maybe being the assassin who kills the Warchief, allowing Sylvanas to take over the Horde.
Or maybe having your guild's name become feared throughout the opposite faction, and idolized in your own. Imagine it; you and four of your mates, all clad in your gear, on your mounts, come flying through Goldshire, killing humans left and right. After you vanish into the sunset, the survivors spread the word of your deeds.
