I'm something of a jack of all trades. I was taught to survive in the wilds, have a rather decent knowledge of the local plants and animals that are good to eat and that arent and that will help and that will hurt. I've got more then enough self defense and shooting/fighting skills, and enough weapons to display them with.

and i'm a rather good leader. plus when I get my friends together, who know stuff id ont, we'd be a rather good team to start a functionin society.

I'm 17, and am a lifeguard as a Saturday job. Which means I have a surprisingly detailed knowledge of first aid techniques, including defib, spinal, broken necks, as well as the usual assortment.
That'll come in handy, I'm guessing. Every survivor outpost needs a medic.

I have this odd skill of being prepared.

I have a stockpile of food, canning supplies, tools, weapons, ammo, smithing equipment, material to build a water tower and a wind-driving pump to supply the tower.

Also, I know how to use (most of) it. All I am missing is the fortifications. I fear that building walls would make me more of a target after the end of the world then I would like. I think I would need ten families (with an average of (one) 1 child per family) in order to maintain defenses and work the fields. Of course that would give me a minimum of 30 mouths to feed, not counting livestock. Luckily, I know a few people in my town who I would be approaching before society collapses.

EDIT:

I am still taking applications for personnel with good science skill. I can do the basics like mixing known elements together. But I need someone who can tell me the difference between salt peter and salt. Also, If you need to know how to build explosives and/or purify water. To be able to take advantage of my offer you need to live in western Kansas, southwestern Nebraska, or northeastern Colorado.

I love how many people are posting "leadership" as a skill, considering it is totally dependent on having followers, one does not lead, one goes his own way and people will follow if they believe he has the skills and abilities to keep them safe.

I am a survivalist I hope the world collapses, I will be ready. I have very good first aid skills. I am good with firearms, and passable with bows. My woodsman skills are adequate but i know people with better. I am a good farmer, both of livestock and plants. I have slaughtered pig and cow... no birds oddly enough... gonna have to change that... I am a decent mechanic and very good at jury rigging things. My carpentry skills are decent though I'm not very good at finish work, I can do framing without trouble. The list goes on... and the world sadly does not collapse.... yet.

Also, I'm pretty good at cannibalism.

Umm im a pretty good shot with most rifles, iv got military training (qualified marksman) and im a decent hunter, so iv got the survival skills and protection skills, and im not a bad cook, and i could probably repair most of the firearms given a bit of time. So I like to think im usefull.

Good shot with a gun, own a shotgun, can pick locks, pretty sneaky, and stubborn as shit.

EDIT: Also, I CAN simply walk into Mordor.

I kinda do.

I grew up on a farm so I'm pretty decent with planting tasty plants/raising small meat creatures.

I spent 3 years in CAP. I loved how hands on my instructer was. He'd occasionally drive us into the Wyoming wilderness with one of the senior officers and left us with the small amount of useful items we had packed to make it back. We actually gave him a lot of flack because every time he drove us out the stupid, old van got stuck in either the mud, the snow or just the ditch on the side of the road. My favorite experience I had was one winter we had X to get to... and a mountain and large snow field was in the way. We spent 2 days (no snowshoes. Yes, on purpose) waist deep in snow, wading our way to X. And then we had to wade back!
But yeah, I'm pretty handy when it comes to outdoors stuff. I can't survive on absolutely nothing but give me a the most basic tools and I could get us anywhere.

I'm good with my hands too, partially from growing up on a farm. I've helped put together a house from the ground up and I've some pretty impressive LEGO contraptions when I was a kid. (nobody builds LEGO skyscrapers like me!)

I'm also an ok cook. (it won't kill you)

I'm NOT...

A good shot. I've fired quite a few different hunting rifles but I'm absolute balls with them. I don't know why.

A long distance runner. I have pretty good "soccer" legs but I'm a quick short distance runner. But my stupid flat feet can't run for a long time. For example, I could a mile in a 7 minutes, pretty easy but if you asked me to take my time and run a mile in 15 minutes my feet would be killing me afterward. I also smoke, so... yeaaaaaaaaah.

Arguably the most useful ones.

An innate likeability and a silver tongue. ;)

You will hunt, and gather, and I will help. But you will want to help me. We will both survive, and through my sociability, a new order will be created. You will come to respect me, and I will graciously accept it. And through that, society will survive.

And so will I.

I am a semiexperienced Survivalist, and can bind any animal successfully (most without tools, but FUCKING BEARS.) so long as they can't break through steel. A jurisdiction on what can and can't be eaten, as well as my leadership stache. Everyone listens to a man with a leadership stache.

Saltpeter should burn with a pretty lilac color due to potassium, just an FYI. Now that person is you. I'm good with people, all the skill you really need. Also, my years of watching TV have convinced me that years spent watching TV will help in a survival situation.

To the original title: not the breathing in space thing that is important :p

To the op: I'm down with hunting and fishing and gutting and cooking of wild animals. Those would be helpful skills, maybe.

I know some survival skills, though they are a bit rusty. I'm good at tinkering with things too so I could probably get things working again to an extent. And I know how to handle a gun so thats a plus. Need to learn how to skin and cut meat on game though, till then I'm fairly limited in food gathering potential.

If Fallout has taught as anything, mercilessly murdering marauders and mercenaries aid the people so that seems like a skill which I could master.
