If they develop superior prosthetics, would you amputate your biological limbs?

I'm not sure. I like my arms...if they felt and looked exactly the same, then maybe I would. If they were practically 100% fail-proof that would also sway me.

That said, the weirdest thing for me are little things like stroking someone's hair, or a hug against bare skin. I think part of me would feel like I'm not in contact with the person if I'm using robo-hands, even if I can feel it the same way.

Personally I wouldn't go to a chopshop just to play with new toys. If I lost a limb in a legit manner I would like a bionic limb, but I also want a safety on it (like a gun) so when the safety is on it would only function in the strength of a proper human. No sense in being bionic if you have to train for years so you don't destroy everything you touch.

if it was a choice between that and a wheel chair for live (or losing an arm) then yes otherwise no. I mean, I'm a sporty fellow, I like my martial arts among other sports. I imagine having this done to you would also make it illegal to enter a full contact competition due to the increased strength and endurance of the limbs (making it an unfair fight). I imagine this would go for just about all sport competitions too... So no thanks unless this is a last choice thing.

I would totally do it.

While if i happened to lose a limb i would snap take a bionic one to replace it, i dont think id have normal healthy ones amputated for bionic ones, and if i did i would just have like one arm, so i can still be normalish (yaknow, just incase the robot arm ran outta battery or got emp'd or soemthing) but still have this gangster robot arm for like, lifting things and working with sharp or hot objects as i wouldnt have to cut myself and burn myself

No.

If they made awesome prostectic eyes with zoom and x-ray vision I would seriously consider it.

Otherwise I never asked for this.

If I lost one, I would get it replaced, but I wouldn't go up and go SLICE ME UP, DOC!

I would love to replace my knees and heels, but I wouldn't, becus of loss of feeling. My heels and knees useualy hurt if I run for a while, and I would love to get rid of that. But I rather be able to feel my whole body than get rid of the ocasional pain.

Hell the fuck yes... but they would have to be on the level of Ghost In The Shell prosthetic limbs...<.<
You mean the ones that have no restrictions on their strength? The ones that can rip your arms off if you strain too hard?

Hell no. If I'm terrified of needles, I'd probably get scared to death if someone tries to cut my damn arm off.

Plus there'd probably eventually be some kind of anti-robot arms uprising, and the fundamental laws of Hollywood state that the rebels always win.

Hells yes. Ghost in the Shell level prosthetics, like others have said, but I wouldn't mind upgrading one eye, to zoom and take pictures with and do Terminator-like analysis of stuff, and one arm. I guess I'm just a cyborg at heart.

Sure, get rid of that botched right hand I got, maybe also my foot, since it's grown wrong for like 20 years. Also a new pair of lungs I guess, *cough*

Only if they have cup holders. Or lasers. Cup holders have priority though.

I would augment pretty much any part of my body except my brain.

I have a quick question for you.
IF they can create a bionic limb capable of surpassing all human abilities at a price which is reasonable and can maintain its purpose, value, and basically survive for 25 years unaided what is stopping the development of a lightweight exo-skeleton which can do the exact same thing for less money and pain?
