I wouldn't be so sure. While I doubt Microsoft has the money to waste on such a pointless endeavor, it's not impossible that they didn't pay a few publishers to do their reveals at the XBOX stand. After all their just using the xbox to show their game on, it doesn't remove the fact that the game will be on the PS4 as well (and will likely even be mentioned that its on both consoles and PC if that's the case making MS spending the money even more pointless). As I said, not impossible but it'd be a waste of money for little gain and I'm not sure MS has the money to waste at this point.
Maybe it's the remnants of politics class coming through, but I'd like to think that Microsoft goes with what they want to achieve and what is the best route to achieve those results. This would be an incredible waste of money for very little gain no matter what, especially at a time when every penny counts.

Customers will find out if a game is available for their preferred console just by asking. Even if the game looks so beautiful and realistic it turns a rock to tears on the Xbox One, if people rather get the PS4, and it's on the PS4, they will get the game for the PS4.

And those publishers that would do this would possibly cut off a number of potential buyers. Hypothetically (PLEASEPLEASEGODNOPLEASE), I want Dragon Age 3 enough to break my "wait until the price drops" rule, but if it only came out on the Xbox One, that's one less buyer EA/Bioware gets. Who would limit possible money flow by presenting at an Xbox conference when they also made it for the PS4/WiiU?

It just sounds like such a dumb move moneywise.

What kind of school yard has this forum turned into?
Developers and Publishers, having spent tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars, are going to take a small amount of money from Microsoft to just not turn up with those games?

Remember guys, Magikarp's Splash attack had a 0.001% chance of delivering an insta-kill, and there is a specific set of timed button presses after a Pokéball being thrown that will guarantee capture of any Pokémon - or at least improve the odds!

*facepalm*
Seriously guys - honestly think before you post this rubbish.

This would make Microsoft guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud, among many, many other crimes. That's not even covering the irreparably damaged business relationships between everyone and Sony which would basically fuck every Publisher in the industry.

Microsoft... Microsoft... Stahp. I know you really want to get into the hardware industry, but look at your name! It is the combination of "microcomputer" and "software". What you do is provide software for computers. Stick to that. Become the best possible in that one area without trying to copy others such as Apple. Hell, if I had my wish, I'd want a console co-created by Sony and Microsoft, utilizing the strengths of both companies. Now that'd be a hell of a machine.

I wouldn't be surprised. *cough* Xbox-Live-Exclusivity-or-nothing *clear throat*, Already too late Microsoft. You could've converted me with some really interesting games, but Sony has inFAMOUS with Troy baker, you're screwed.

The XB1 outlandish rumor machine just keeps on cranking out crazy. The next insider report will be that Microsoft uses baby bones to make the casing of the console. Honestly until something insane like this happens then we can put on our tinfoil hats, but until that happens people really need to stop with the rumor threads.

Doubt it's true, but sure would be interesting if it was. To be honest these rumors don't even need to be made up, Microsoft is good enough at creating bad PR itself, just take a look at the fact they have pulled out of their post E3 press conference, i think that speaks volumes more than anything else could.

Oh I agree completely, just saying it's not impossible. It would however be a dumb moves for any publisher that affiliated with XBone. There's literally nothing to gain by siding with the one your customers hate so badly....

Besides all the problems the thread's pointing out, I simply don't see how this'd matter even if it went through. Core gamers wouldn't care what version's being showcased because they read this kind of stuff on the internet, people who are less invented in gaming wouldn't care because they don't watch events like E3. The only thing this could affect is retailers being aware of the product, but I'd imagine publishers's just inform them once the time to stock the shelves has come.

If this is true, which the percentage is on par with rain on a sunny day, but hey, I guess stupider things have happened by a company in the name of moniez, I'm eating an edible panty.

....I tried hats and those are hard to swallow....

EA will probably do it, because that's just a match made in heaven. But, of course, they will backtrack when the usual fan backlash hits them. I would instruct them to keep the money anyway and tell Microsoft to shove it.
I think EA wouldn't do it simply because they like to have their name everywhere, but hey, only time will tell. An besides, they HAVE to say what titles their game will be on, so either way there is no way that PS4 will not be seen in the distance or mentioned, otherwise it's just a loss of money.

That is of course if this is actually true. Remember all the, "WE HAVE A REALLY TRUSTED PERSON INSIDE" articles that said crap about the next playstation and xbox, most of what they reported turned out to be bullshit, so I'm gonna remain sceptical on this one.

This could happen... but the potential blow back would be staggering. The only people watching E3 are hard core gamers, and they are already furious at Microsoft. If word got out, and if this is true then it already has, then the press would crucify them. Sony would come out as the good guy and bathe in the good press. Casual gamers are barely aware of E3, and won't be paying attention to what games are being listed there. I think Microsoft will likely pull back on this and deny it if it's true, and ignore it if it's not. I can't see them winning with this.

Bull. Shit. Microsoft doesn't have that kind of power in the games industry and they never will. You can come back to me when you have sources more credible than "some guy on the internet".

This seems to be pretty stupid if true - the Sony consoles always have billions of exclusives (unlike Microsoft) and the PS4 is no different, so surely they wouldn't be particularly bothered if all the cross platform games did at e3 was just not play the game on the ps4.

I have to call fake on this one, all it would take is one person to confirm it and Microsoft will be in more trouble than the world currently has stockpiled.

This... Surely this is just how companies normally react? It's like companies paying sports stars to wear their gear, or food companies paying to have their foods shown in white goods advertising. The only difference is that there are only 2 companies involved. I can't imagine at all that Sony haven't been doing the same from day one, this article was just written by a Sony fan as obvious slander and propaganda.

Welcome to life...

If this is true, LOL MS buying their way into a market again, developers buying into this better be careful. It can't be good for their reputation if they are caught.

Possible backlash from Sony is possible too. Sony isn't stupid, they would prioritize their resources for companies that help them - the logical thing to do.
