If/when you get a kid, will you introduce him/her to gaming?

I would let my child play games as early of an age as they want. I bought my son several V-Tech and LeapFrog games even before he was born. I am though, I stickler to ratings and will not let my child play an M rated game without me trying it out first to see just how bad it is. I'm the parent who won't let his fifteen year old play Grand Theft Auto. Course it will depend on thier maturity level also.

I'm thinking yes. It's a very good outlet for bad emotions, and it can teach things like patience and teamwork. I would sensor what they play until they are a responsible age though.

I've got a kid due in November, and I figure they'll want to game like me. One thing I will say about it is thank goodness for the Wii. I know, it's not fashionable to like it but my kid can wait to play Bioshock until s/he is at least 9 (sarcasm). I can't wait to play with him/her.

I would, because games affect me greatly as a stress-reliever as well as a wonderful abundance of ideas and creativity. I would love my kids to experience such bliss and content.

I will with hold the games, until their curiosity killes them. After a while I would introduce them to electronic heroin, or WoW. Then slowly introduce them to console games. I am going to craft my children into the perfect MLG team. THEY WILL NOT FAIL MEGATRON! thats what they are gunna have to call me when they play video games.

Maybe not. I remember my temper as a child when I couldn't get past a particular area (hell, I still lose my temper when faced with game design that obviously stems from the developer's spite and/or incompetence). If my kid inherits my gaming temper, I'm not letting him touch my games. He can get his own.

I would do it the same way my parents did it to me, stick a controller in their hands before they can even walk or speak (or even remember in my case). A few years after that they can choose for themselves if they like it or not.

If they expressed interest at a early age I'd help them right along. I my self began playing when I was only 3 years old. If not I'd wait until there older than ask them to give it a try.

I'll introduce them to it, but I refuse to force them to play if they don't like it.
