If you actually lived in fallout, how would you survive?

I don't care about which fallout your going to survive in, just HOW.
Would you settle in a town and open a store, become a raider or slaver? Or just Ride with the trade caravans?

The nuclear fallout is the limit! Now tell me... (be creative)

I don't think I would do very well, because I would have problems eating the food in the fallout universe, since it is mostly irradiated. I also think I would be terrified of running into any of the wild life, because I am a pansy.

I have a feeling I'd be pretty worthless... I'd try to settle in the biggest civilization I could find. If it was me two years ago however (a much cockier, physically fitter and better equipped)I'd desperately try hunting down a vault and crack it open. Then hire a team of mechanics to fix it up with me (offering them a share of the profits). When it was done, I'd set it up like an underground civilization. One complete with an armed force, taxes, jobs and shool.

Well after attempting to survive on my own and most likely failing after a death claw tears up my shack, I would probably go from city to city looking for someone like Moira Brown (shop and or happy go lucky easy to leech off personality) and do odd jobs for room and board. Probably ranging from fix this rifle to go out and fight off the insane robot army. That along with the badass aspect of killing radioactive pandas to sell their pelts I think I could dig out a good niche in life.

Hopefully I'd mutate into a super mutant. That would be rad. A ghoul, at the very least. Then I would have an excuse to be drunk all day.

Just give me an all black Accuracy International Arctic Warfare (AI AW) Sniper Rifle with a fluted thread and tactical muzzle break for a silencer, a Picatinny Rail, a fixed stock with a butt spike, a bipod and a Leupold Mark 4 Long Range Tactical Rifle Scope chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum with 10,000 rounds and I could survive easy but since life never works that way I would take my shotgun, katana , knife and a can of tactical bacon and make due until I get killed

Yeah, I know this has been done. Still, it's worth thinking about. You never know.

I'd be a raider. No way around it, the easiest way to get stuff in Fallout is to take it from other people. They hole up in all the neat places.

Being a ghoul would be cool too.
