Secondly, why would I want to marry at all? Marriage is a prison for the naive and idealistic, and a financial burden beyond any but childbirth - and childbirth is a biological imperative.

no it's not, thats just how your perceive it, don't have a shot at others because they want to marry people. Many people often marry for love, and they find it necessary to marry the person they love. I see what you're saying with it being unnecessary and a waste of money but that is like saying playing games is a waste of time and money when you should be studying. Most people who marry would have their own reasons for it, and I don't think they appreciate you saying that marriage is a prison for the naive and idealistic. Also what's wrong with being idealistic? In conclusion I have no doubt there have been people who have married that would consider you naive.
