In responce to all the 40k stuff earlier...the Emperor's cool and all... but Abbaddon the Despoiler is much cooler. He can walk.

Dr Gordan Freeman is a very close runner up for myself, and if it's playable characters only he'd win hands down. Nope, the G-man that moniters and manipulates the Half-Life universe would not need to convince me to take he place at all.

I'd want to be Renon (I think that was his name), the merchant character from Castlevania 64. He has got to be the coolest design for a merchant in any game ever conceived. He's some kind of demon, but he looks perfectly human except for a forked tail. He wears a bowler and an old school gentleman's tux and perfectly round sunglasses. Also, I'm not sure if I'm remembering this correctly, but I think he lives inside of his briefcase.

C'mon, it doesn't get much cooler than that.
