It's not Anime/Manga thats why. (If you only consider Anime to be from Japan)

Moomin are a set of Finnish Children Stories also adapted into a Cartoon.

Tsubasa if I had the ability to travel between worlds like they do I would never grow bored. Otherwise pokemon because the idea of a world where you could build a business on something you find roaming around in the grass is AWESOME, and you really could build a business on just about any Pokemon, Caterpie, a business making threads, garadose, a demolition or a ferrying business, charmander, well he's not quite a business but he could help keep my out house warm constantly...
I might also move into outlaw star/cowboy bebop or spice and wolf, although I don't know what I would do in those worlds...

It's such a national treasure, that many wouldn't even first think of it as an anime.[footnote]Actually it's based on books (but the TV series is the most common reference) and the franchise is huge, being used everywhere, with products from curtains to coffee cups to clothes.[/footnote] Everyone (including elderly and small kids as well) in Finland knows about Muumit (Moomin). If you're born in late 80's to this day, You'll most probably grow up with watching these guys do all kinds of crazy shit.

Cowboy Bebop for sure. I like the idea of universe that bands are so extreme in their performances that they have to wear seatbelts for added safety. I'm a massive jazz nut and it seems everyone in Bebop likes either jazz or blues, so yep, sign me up for that universe.

Though as far as wishful thinking goes, it's on par with death metal being the most popular genre in the world in Metalopocalypse.
