If you could bring one game character on an epic adventure, who would it be?

You have been tasked with an epic adventure. Along the way there will be puzzles, fighting, danger, character interactions, epic driving and/or flying shenanigans, computer hacking and cliche moral dilemmas.

Who do you bring?

Personally I would bring Solid Snake, while not my favorite game character he is flexible in many different roles as a spy, soldier, and a hacker and isn't going to screw things up with some off the wall crazy move.

Uh.. Kratos. If you need a reason why, you really need to play God of War.
Two blades, attached to chains. He's Bloodthirsty, and he kills all who stand in his path.

This is assuming he treats me like he treats Pandora (I.e. in the way that doesn't involve me being viciously murdered.)

Any one of the characters from TF2
They all are skilled at combat and have a sense of humor, so it would be perfect

I'm not sure, maybe Gordon Freeman, since he wouldn't drive me insane by talking all the time. Or maybe not Gordon Freeman, since the silence might get a little tedious, not to mention that he couldn't really warn me of danger.

Maybe I'd go for one of the female characters whose pants are pretty easy to get into, but can also prove useful in a fight or other situations.

It's a tough decision.

Except that every attack Kratos does in AOE. You have a high chance to be decapitated yourself.

Morrigan from Dragon Age

She's a freaking Witch of the Wilds who can turn into animals, and she has a nice outfit. Why not bring her?

Except that you're forgetting all allies never take damage from said AoE attacks/spells. :p
Case in point:
So yeah.

Duke Nukem... or Liberty Prime. Too hard to decide, both are qoutingmachines and very OP.

Liberty Prime, or in a less overpowered yet similar awesome scale, The Heavy or Fawkes.

I have to agree with you on that. His only negative point is that he smokes too much. At least he isn't a homocidal maniac like so many game heroes these days. He seems the kind of person anyone could talk to and feel comfortable being around with.

Duke Nukem or Master Chief. Chief is an a-hole but it would be nice to have an almost immortal companion.

Cloud Strife. He never says anything, so he won't bother me, and he's so goddamn strong he can destroy any obstacles we come across.

Probably Tali'Zorah from the Mass Effects. She's able to defend herself well, has impressive tech skills, and is quite intelligent. She's also cute, likable, and easy to get along with. Which would be an important aspect, considering things wouldn't work well if one couldn't get along with the folk you're bringing with you. Thus her combat skills, her tech skills, and her likable personality makes a great combination for bringing along with on an epic adventure. At least, in my opinion obviously.

Beat me to it. Like, sure you could have Snake who could sneak his way out of a situation with a cardboard box, or have Kratos kill absolutely everything within a 10 mile radius the second someone looks at him funny. That would be far more epic, and the thread is about epic adventures.
