If you could carry any weapon...

THIS TOPIC IS PURELY FOR POWER FANTASY-ESQUE ENTERTAINMENT.

Felt a disclaimer could be helpful here.

Basically, if you could have and keep on you any weapon, what would it be? Maybe one or two plausible weapons, stuff that you could carry (as long as it were legal), and a few to keep in your magic satchel (implausible/ too large weaponry). Oh, and for the less-likely or conventional stuff, you do have the training to properly use it in this particular fantasy.

I would have to go with weighted-knuckle gloves [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weighted-knuckle_glove] for my plausible weapons. They can look just like dress gloves, and they can let you punch through concrete [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVKWcxvmjlI] with no pain. That is awesome.

For not-so-legal/implausible/ridiculous stuff, I'd go with a ballistic knife, preferably one that is incorporated into a fore-arm covering glove for concealment. Sorta like the poison dart thing in the bracer in AC: Brotherhood. That, and a huge black wolf/malamute and a white tiger that obey my every command. Hey, anything goes.

Gimme a few dreams of yours, I relish in these fantasies.

A halberd. The original Swiss Army weapon! Hook for breaking armor plates and dragging people around, a spike for stabbing, an axe blade for chopping.

Weighted-knuckle gloves are pretty cool, too.

FNP-45 for everyday carry (legal.)

An AR-15 built to my specs. (legal to open carry in my state, but I haven't EVER seen anyone openly carrying a rifle outside of hunting/shooting.)

fantasy esque? - That Halo sniper rifle, not the biggest fan of the game, but the specs on it sounds like it'd be fun to shoot a couple of times.

Depends in very large part on the setting.

Fallout-style post-apocalyptic? Some kind of scoped hunting rifle/sniper rifle.

Oblivion-style medieval sword-and-sorcery? Well, assuming I'm not just a spellcaster, a nice shortsword. Easy to handle, agile, my kind of weapon.

Something patently absurd? The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, with one end at my house and the other end in the hometown of whichever girl wanted me in her life the most (I have several good female friends on the Internet who would make excellent real-world girlfriends, but distance precludes me regularly going to see them.)

The Railway Rifle is all I would need. No one fucks with a man carrying a rifle that fires railroad spikes.

Probably a short spear. I always thought those were extremely useful weapons.

A BFG, but an Assault Cannon from WH40K couldn't be too bad though.

But in other terms, an automatic self-reloading shotgun and failing that, the most powerful handgun in the world.

The taser/stun fist thing, I forget what it was called.

For absurd I'll go with something like a magical halberd. Not because it's super effective or anything, but just to do a warcry and charge at people shouting "I am LUBU! FEAR MEEEE!"

For fantasy weapons, I have to go patently absurd, since I already own and sometimes carry all of the concealable real weapons I've ever wanted (usually a subcompact .45... sometimes a wakizashi when I'm away from civilization).
so...
A short-barreled, lever-action shotgun that shoots other, smaller shotguns that all shoot tiny lightsabers which ignite on contact with the air... that I could conceal under a jacket.

Assuming I could carry it without destroying my back, the buster sword

And dual revolvers, the sexiest guns ever made

If we're talking real weapons, I've always loved revolvers, even though I'm not a "gun person."

There's something about the metallic click and the power of an object in your hand that makes you feel good. I'm half tempted to take up smoking so that I can carry around a lighter.

However, no offense but I generally don't like the kind of people who carry guns around (besides police) or have guns in their homes. I'm very left wing, but I'm not getting into that. So instead, I'd probably go with a balisong (butterfly knife). I love flipping those things around, and even though it isn't specifically practical, I'd still enjoy it.

For real weapons, one longsword and an axe.
For imaginary weapons, two soul-stealing runeblades.
Not very creative, I admit, but I really like dual melee combat, so whatever.

I'd go with a box of Holy Hand grenades. Yeah. A whole box, I intend to cause some real damage.
'Cause there's nothing like having divine power combined with the awesome force of explosives. Or something along that line.

Alternatively (In case of Holy Hand Grenade shortage), a real nice crossbow. They're pretty lethal.

For legal weapons to carry, when I worked at a large multi-national department/supermarket chain as a cart pusher I carried a fairly small folding knife (the blade was shorter than four and a half inches) mostly to cut open boxes and rope/tie-downs.
I'd also like to be able to carry a handgun, preferably .40 cal- .45cal.

Fantasy-wise I'd want to carry an M40A1 pulse rifle (used by the Colonial Marines in Aliens) and the twin extending /retractable wrist blades used by the Predators in the Predator movies

For Fantasy weapon I couldnt carry in the open It would be a Broadsword. I have a real rapier (sharpened and all, but cant carry it around legally unless I'm going to a competition and it would be entirely cumbersome).

For my real weapon? Brass Knuckles and a switch blade. I've already fucked enough kids up with both I'd be rather successful with them.

Real life weapon (not sure on legality) I would say a nice sturdy one handed club-type weapon with some kind of knuckle grip. People tend to forget how effective and satisfying to just bludgeon something a one way ticket to Jesus.

Fantasy weapon... a katana with a frictionless blade. Maximum cut with minimum effort.
