CoD series - Remove all idiot friendly perks, balance weapons, remove claymores and other assorted free kill bombs and such completely.

Halo Reach - Disallow armour lock from most standard Slayer games and increase its recharge time

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Weapons deteriorate much faster

Crysis 2 - SO. MUCH. LAG. MUSTTTT FIIIIXXXXXX

Dawn of War Dark Crusade - Revamp Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines and Necrons so that they are generally ridiculously powerful but also ridiculously expensive. Should mix the gameplay up a bit...
(If anyone knows a mod that does something like this, I'm all ears, or eyes or whatever)

Original Age of Empires - Remake it with fancy ass graphics and chuck in some new units and campaigns.
Seriously, this was like the most awesome RTS ever. THE VILLAGERS HIT PEOPLE WITH GIANT BONES!

Mass Effect 2 - Completely change the combat. I don't care just what it changes into, just freaking change it.

Metro 2033 - Errrmmm....hmmm....

Deus Ex - Give everyone what they want and give us an alternate campaign where you stay with UNATCO and fight the actual bad guys.

-

Ah, one can dream.

Mount And Blade: Warband - The besieging mechanic. Give some damn options.
Oblivion: Level scaling, for the love of god level scaling.
Incidentally, I've been really wanting to give Oblivion another shot, since almost everything else in that game made it well worth playing. Can someone point me in the direction of a good reliable mod that removes the level scaling, and is compatible with all the DLC?

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - Make it harder to hide. Every shadow in that game was like an invisibility cloak. Perhaps just reserve that for hard difficulty or something.

WH40K: Dawn of War - Nothing. Not a damn thing, this game was, and is, flawless. Just wanted to put that out there.

No wait, the newest expansion has flying units. They suck, get rid of them.

Mass Effect 2 - Same as you, get rid of that ridiculous resource gathering crap.

Edit:

Also this. This game would be, like, 34% better if the sieges had more functionality. As it is, they're terrible and I hate them.

Change assassinations in Halo and Assassin's Creed to quick-time action events to give them more interactivity.
You'll find that a lot of people here have distaste for quick time events no thanks to Yatzhee Croshaw.

But honestly, the assassinations in Halo Reach are far too quickly done to have any quick time events. It would make the game more frustrating than entertaining.
This just gave me a good idea. I would make it so you hold B to start an assassination, and you can press any buttons to create your own animation. You you press B after it starts and you hit them with your gun, then press A and jump onto them, knocking them down, then press B again and smash their face in, and it's over. Three simple interactive movements, or you could just wait for an animation to finish to end it quicker.

That would be awesome.

Halo Reach, entirely remove loadouts from matchmaking. Armour abilities should be deployed as on-map pick ups so they are exchangable like the Halo 3 equipments were. Funny that this can all be done with a few changes to maps in Forge and some simple changes to gametypes.

Also nerf grenades.

No amoebas would nice. And less bullet sponge enemies. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing.
Totally, though I suppose bullet sponge enemies makes sense, since you're generally shooting at people with a gun which was made in some underground armoury where they use whatever scrap metal they can get their hands on for parts, and the ammo has most likely been dropped, trodden on, eaten by monsters and crapped out at least 57 times.

Higher difficulty level = fewer shots to kill.
That's one of the stranger statements I've seen on these forums, I must say.

Yeah it definitely makes sense from a story perspective, it just didn't feel very fun to me to empty 7 shotgun rounds into a mutant that's tearing my face off and still have it coming - I'm sure they'll find a good balance for the sequel, which by the way looks amazing.

Defending the photography? I see absolutely no reason why that should have been included. I found myself trying to run from enemies while taking pictures of them instead of properly defending myself, helpless to blast at them until I had a picture to remember them by. It was a horrible mechanic in that game.
It was pretty stupid alright, but then again people forget that Bioshock wasn't a very good shooter full stop.

The second game did it better: you flick on a camera before the fight and it records you fighting them automatically, giving you more points for using a variety of attacks and weapons on them - but honestly I thought it was just a dumb idea in the first place and they could have done without either of them.
