Which of course would have been a lack of a Sphere Grid and a leveling up system more akin to Tales of which actually thinks you may wanna switch characters to get variety or that something will happen that puts one of your A-Team members out and a person you abandoned shortly after they joined back in.
And of course, Tidus's death and better class balance (Thank you Aeons for making little to no reason to use Lulu at all!)

Sorry, both of them are the reasons that FPS games are war games after war game after alien game that's just about as decent to look at as a pencil-sketch of a 1950's book.
Not to mention, I hear so many "intelligent" PC gamers loving Gordon Freeman and saying that putting a Sock Puppet character in a FPS game is original. Oh hasn't that been done since say, every single one ever made? Heck we all know Gordon Freeman is just another Dragon Quest-style hero.
