Then I would always be eating a better piece of cake than the one I picked up, my bacon would always be crispy, my hair would be awesome, my Ipod would upgrade itself and the people I shook hands with would stop contemplating stealing my wallet.

Also I could use it to make people better, although I'd have to make sure that they never found out it was me. Am I selfish for not wanting to share incredible healing powers 24/7 until my hands drop off?

Not necessarily. Since the "well stocked" is part of the fridge change as a whole, the objects inside would be unchanged by your touch, having already been changed.

But the item itself isn't a well stocked fridge. Plus, as soon as you took something out of the well stocked fridge, it ceases to be well stocked.

but the items inside make up the "well stocked" component of the fridge. without the items inside it would just be a fridge. So really the items are part of the fridge. And if you remove the items its even better because it would become just a fridge so your touch would turn it back into a well stocked fridge again, removing the need to touch a different item.

So because they are in fact part of something that has already been changed you could handle them without changing again. It's like turning gold into gold. It will change on a technical level but there will be no change in physical state.
