I would download one of three things.
#1 would be the black belt in Muay Thai.
#2 would be super death metal guitar skills.
And #3 would be an I.Q. of 250.

+ 100 Charisma...

With that I'll never need another skill...

Me: "Hey honey!"
Hot chick: "Who are you?"
Me: "I'm your boyfriend!"
Hot girl: "Oh yah!!!"

Or:

Police officer: "Did you kill this man whose blood is all over you?"
Me: "No"
Police Officer" "Okay then"

Hmm. It seems most of us have chosen to download physical ability rather than mental knowledge. But are we assuming that having the knowledge is only half of an ability, and the other half is physical aptitude?

I guess I'd go with fluency in about as many languages as my brain can take.

I'd want to learn everything there is to know about psychology and manipulation.
Good one. Like Derren Brown.

I'd like to have thought of that but didn't so I'll say Pragmatism.

There are so many skills, but mastering musical intruments comes to mind. :p
And triple check.(I'd go for the saxophone. In my 1 year of learning to play it, I've made little progress)

Martial arts of some form, just so I can do the Matrix "I know kung fu" bit.

Man, I am such a geek.

I can't really think of anything for this because I really like the learning process behind having a new skill. I guess if anything I'd want natural musical talent, because while I can play a wide range of instruments, and could probably learn anything I put my mind too, I still get foxed by some of the really complex musical matters, and since I'm trying to write a musical for full orchestra, having the latent skill would really help.

If you could download one skill into your brain (Like martial arts in The Matrix) what would you download and what use would you get out of it?

Note: They have to be skills human beings can actually achieve, such as being a master pianist. Things such as flying don't count.

Skill in computers. As a PC gamers who actually doesn't know that much about the various programs, this would by far be the most releveant in my day to day life.

Download empathy, stick it on a USB and upload it to my boyfriend.

For myself, probably martial arts and 'not giving a shit-ness'
So you would give your boyfriend empathy...and delete your own empathy? That seems....really self centered. Ideally, you should both be equally empathic.

Okay, so excluding the whole 'fluent in all languages, knowledge of everything and just generally being superhuman as far as intelligence and physical prowess goes', I'd want either extreme gymnastic skill (I'd rather be able to run on walls for short distances, backflip, etc, than be able to simply kick someone's ass, but not look as fancy), or become fluent in Finnish (assuming fluency in all languages fits into the above category of nigh-superhuman intelligence).

Oh, or an awesome skill at voice imitation of (just for fairness's sake), 5 people of my choosing, being James Hetfield, Tarja, Annete Olzon, and... two metal singers on whom I can't decide.

The skill of being the master of every fighting type there is.

I'd be a pro MMA fighter without even going to a single class.

The fighting styles the MMA uses tend to rely a lot of physical strentgh (such as boxing) so you would still suck uinless you spend a lot of time at the gym.

Oh, and MMA fighters suck.

They tend to overly rely on western techniques. It would take them mutliple strikes to break a mans's bone, but many eastern arts can teach you to break a man's arms or legs in one hit. that's the actual point of all those board and brick breaking classes- to teach you how to break bone quickly and conistently in a fight.
