My nation would occupy western Canada and America, specifically it would be all of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and California, the western half of Montana (border running from the bottom right corner of Alberta to the top-right corner of Wyoming), the south half of Albera and British Columbia (Everything south of Whitecourt), and that coastal peninsula of Mexico drawing the border straight south from Yuma. If possible, I'd also like the Hawaiian islands, but that's a secondary concern (for now...).

Definitely my new nation, Nova Orsa would be a dictatorship to begin, and transition into a monarchy (my family being instated as the royal family, friends becoming the nobles). The state religion would be atheism, with no rights being given at the start, they would be introduced slowly as the laws are written in a clear and indisputable manner, unlike the loose, vague laws we have now.

Economically, we would be the breadbasket of North America. We have the farmland, the forests, the fish and a significant resource of crude oil. The oil would be for national use only, the rest can be exported.
Hate to break it to you but, First of All I want Oregon and Washington, you can have California, second, the bread basket is farther east than what you described. Places like Iowa, Nebraska, the Dakotas, those places are the 'breadbasket' areas, the Great Plains area.
The Pacific Northwest is good for timber industry and fishing, although California has quite the farm area, as does the Willamette Valley of Oregon, and Eastern Washington has many fruit orchards, montana is Cattle country and Nevada isn't really good for anything. But I'm not familiar with Canadian territory though.

But seriously, Oregon and Washington are mine.

Please keep it 'semi' serious.
I'd prefer Northern California coastline, but I can work with anywhere it doesn't snow.

Minimalist government. There would be no regulation or oversight except in the case of direct harm to an individual or their freedoms.

Complete and total capitalism. Laissez-faire all the way.

Amazingistan

I would guarantee the right to do whatever the hell you want, provided you do not interfere with another's rights to life, liberty, and property.

I would declare the state religion Pastafarianism, because the world needs more pirates.

It would be an island in the Atlantic, it would be a unique minimalist totalitarian government in which eveyone has the freedom to do what they want as long as they do as I ask when i ask them (i.e i wouldn't ban a sub culture or lifestyle as long as they do what i tell them when i tell them), capitalist with elements of communism, My people would have all their rights and be treat well as long as they co-operate with the regime when asked though there would be death camps as i would need a purge in order to come to power and have them just in case, i would allow all religions however replace their God with me. And i would call the place Airstrip One, oh wait.........

What area Would I occupy?
Probably a moving artificial island. Badass.
What System of Government?
Probably an Intelligence-based Democracy. You take a test on general and current events knowledge, and the scores decide how much of a vote you get.
Free market. Whenever the government gets involved, it tends to be... not good.
What would I name it?
Ellisium.
What rights would I guarantee?
That depends entirely upon a person's needs, as written on a form given out every seven years, starting at age 15.

What area would you want it to occupy?

In the mountains somewhere, the Alps, Canada, Norway, somewhere where it's cool, sunny and snowy. Hm, maybe Antarctica?

What system of government?

Social democracy with an emphasis on social.

What economic system?

Free market with state regulations.

What would you name it?

Uhm, I'm bad at naming things...
Something relating to its location, though.
Gletscheringen or Bergheim or something?

What rights might you gurantee?

Rights of freedom of thought, religion, sexuality and the other Human Rights, a right for pension and welfare, a right for progressive biomedical research and monetary support for scientists. No weapons for the civilian populace, though.

Would you declare a state religion?

Nope, every religion or lack thereof is acceptable as part of the Human Rights. I'd make sure there's a strict separation between religion and state, though.

No, but seriously. A fascist, highly imperialist nation formed on an artificial island; fucking cool.
I feel pretty confident that that was Lex Luthor's plan in Superman Returns.

Screw you guys, I liked that movie.

I've already tried to do it. [http://srwbe.forumandco.com/]

It didn't go well.

It was intended to be a satirical Communist Dictatorship, and I pulled that off.. It's just not very popular. I think I had about 7 members, only 1 of which joined the forum. Ah well. I'll never beat Hugo Chavez at this rate.

What area would you want it to occupy?
Some place slightly warmer than Belgium, and possibly even smaller, heck I'd be happy with a country to size of a somewhat large city.

What system of government?
Dictatorship on paper, I can do anything and so can you as long as it doesn't bother the fellow citizen in practise. Don't like a certain thing? Mail me what has to be changed with a lot of reasons and arguments along with "how it should be realised", I will then kindly reply whether it's a possibility or not, if I'm not sure I'll let the people vote. (abuse my royal email address and fear the consequences)

What economic system?
There will be government controlled companies that would only affect the country, pays will be high. Want to start your own company or something of the like? You'll be paid slightly less than what you'd get if you worked in a government company and have 4 years time to kick your company out of the ground (I must approve, you must convince me), if you fail to do that in that time, you'll continue working in a government company for a slightly lower pay till the amount you earned less equals the amount you received in the 4 years you got to start your company. There's a lot more to it, though.

What would you name it?
Tomelay. Or something else.

What rights might you guarantee?
The right to live happy with all clocks and bells you want, as long as you aren't a pest to the society.

Would you declare a state religion?
1% less taxes for the citizens that praise my greatness every second Wednesday of the month.
Other than that, no.
