Yes, I know this has been done before, but I just got back from watching X-Men: First Class (amazing, definitely go and watch it) and thus the inevitable conversation erupted between my mate and I in the car ride home.


Personally, I would have teleportation. For starters, obviously, you can get from point A to point B very quickly. But also, just imagine the possibilities that teleporting could give you? Also, when it comes to fighting, I always imagined it would come in very handy, as you're essentially, if skilled enough, moving at the speed of light. Additionally sports would be a hell of a lot easier albeit you would probably be classed as cheating... And, in theory, you can fly too, if you so desire - but teleporting to one location in the sky, and then another, and another etc etc.

Also, when I teleported I'd like a little whisp of smoke a la Nightcrawler in X2 or Azazel in First Class.

So, Escapists, what would your power be?

Also be semi-realistic - no "Galactus-esque" powers please.....

Well, if I could pick anything in the world, it would be the ability to grant my own wishes in the spirit in which they were made.

But if we're being *sigh* semi-realistic, then I would go with either telepathy or the ability to transmute one form of matter into something else. We're talking rocks to sandwiches, leaves to cash - self-sufficiency.

My first choice was going to be invisibility for obvious reasons, but then I thought a little longer and I concluded that the ability to see through select things would be more useful than invisibility.

Is the ability to manipulate minds allowed? If it is then I choose Mind Control and making anyone do anything I want.

If that's not allowed then I'd go with Wolverines power. If I'm not mistaken he was beaten to a single cell and was able to regenerate to his full form. So yea I'd go with that.

And everyone in the world will try to kill you... the women (for obvious reasons), and the men, so that they can eat your brain, presumably. But, damn, I wish I'd've thought of that...

OT: Telepathy (mind reading/thought projection/mind control/all relevant extremes). How much fun I'd have fucking with heads is immeasurable.

If I wanted to take the completely OP approach I would stop nothing short of having the power a Plainswalker. Of I know enough about myself to know that if I had infinite power I would be a total jackass most of the time.

Realistically I would would go with teleportation via a warmhole created by me. Wormholes are way more cooler then wisps of smoke. To even more practical I would probably only use it to teleport to work and back. My work of course being in a city with a high cost of living while I actually live a a rural area with a very low cost of living. That way I can insure I get the highest pay for what I do with the lowest expenses.

I'd like one of those powers that lets me metabolize something and get more powerful from it. You know, like red souls from Onimusha or something.

Partly because that's kinda sorta a "wish for more wishes" since it would make me more and more powerful over time. But mostly it's because of what I know about the human mind. Humans are made happy not by a good life situation, but by an improving life situation. So ideally, I'd rather have a power that grows and improves over time than one that stays static. That way my life will continue to improve and I will feel happy for longer.

Continuum Control. If I can't have that, Omni-Power would work. If I can't have that, then either Sorcery, Matter Manipulation, or Force Manipulation would work as well.

Edit: Hell, anyone on here could give me the parameters of the power they want and I could give them the name of said power and what it actually can do. Feel free to ask away anyone. It'll be fun.
