I have photographic memory. it sucks beacuse there are things you want to unsee but you can't because that glance froze it in statsis in your mind. Great for puzzles and word puzzles though.

For skill i would have it would be more charm and suave like the old spice dude.
Yeah I was thinking that would be the drawback, I hate thinking of things I want to unsee with my current fuzzy-no-detail memory never mind an accurate picture.
And yes the Old Spice guy is awesome.
Studing is nice scan the page for a quick second then you have it memorised for tests although then you still remeber it long after the test is done with.

Let's say a real life skill you do not currently have, what would it be?

In terms of practicality I would choose awesome study skills, the ability to sit down and just get stuff done efficiently. I'm working on it but it'd be sweet not to have to lol.
For fun maybe an Eidetic Memory (Photographic Memory), I think that would be cool I dunno if some people who have it don't like it.

What about you guys?

Plus you'll lose your long term memory one day most like. Alot of people with photographic memory see and remember so much, that their brain is too full of information and needs to get rid of some
Please tell me your joking because thats the first i've heard of that happening.
Happened to a friend of mine at 25. they started forgetting some of their earliest memories..

I love riding motorbikes (haven't for a while due to injuries) and I would just love to be able to have the skill of the MotoGP riders or even be able to ride with their style..I am a decent rider but everytime on went onto tracks and tried the leaning into corners, I felt like I was laying down, when I was barely even leaning..I would just love to feel the sensation that a GP rider would get when carving through a corner at 200+km/h on a lean angle over 45 degrees.

I also wish I had the skill to heal injuries through magic or mind-power or something like that..That would very handy

Unlimited patience.
Life would be so much more fun if things didn't make you angry.
Definitely this. If I could be patient, it would be awesome.

Maybe being able to control my temper when I fight, 'cause when someone hits me, I get pissed, and rush them, and get my ass kicked.

And Photographic Memory...

I don't think it happens to everyone. My friend was a history buff though, and wouldn't just glance at pages to remember them, he read alot... So I have no idea how it'll be for you. It could simply be that your brain overlaps the information and just can't focus on those years anymore.

It's not 100% certain, but it's what I've seen in a few cases.

I have something of a photographic memory, but a full-blown eidetic memory would be very useful, especially when exams roll around.

Well, I'd love to be able to play the piano. I borrowed a friends keyboard yesterday and am struggling, but slowly gaining progress. I'd like to already have the skill to play the damned thing.

I just want to learn this:

When you are really young parts of your brain act like a sponge. Its what makes learning languages much simpler. I want that back.

I'd like to be able to draw really well.
Actually, I could practice it and become skilled the normal way, but every time I try, I get discouraged and frustrated by the crap I produce.
It's unbelievably frustrating to not be able to express what you want, especially when you're as self-critical as me.

This right here. I mean sure I do it already but it more often then not ends with a slap to the face.
So ninja skills to avoid being slapped then? I'd settle for his voice or george clooney's :)
