... kind of a level-up, if you will; what would you choose to upgrade? Could be anything physical or mental/psychological. Life span, general health, intelligence, patience, bravery? Get creative!

If I had to choose just one, I'm going for empathy. In my humble opinion, none of the other stuff can really compensate for that. If not that, at least remove that useless appendix!

What do you guys think?

Very hard choice on the mental/psychological level.
I would remove, in almost it's entirety, the ability to be judgmental or greatly increase the level of understanding.
The latter (understanding) definitely leads to empathy, while the earlier (being judgmental) will at many times remove it.

For physical qualities, the ability to fly would be grand.
A working set of wings would open a world of wonder. Or...you know, just kind of Peter Pan flying. Either works, really.

Remove trolls. Everyone of them. No more of them, ever. I think the improvement to the world would be quiet great.

Force everyone to use common sense in everything they do.

If that is impossible them force them to remove the second amendment to the constitution of the USA
Not talking about forcing anything here, though. I suppose if common sense is what you value the highest, then that's what you would hypothetically choose to upgrade. For that to hypothetically happen I would assume we'd need a solid definition of what that is. (From what I gather, it is often quite the subjective thing.)

Less mean-spirited people. That and a mass culling of irrational and insane homeless people. And more respect directed towards me!...But I jest!...Or do I? Hehahehee...

Lessen the amount of greed in humanity. I'd say 90% of our world's problems stem from the unhealthy amounts of desire for money, land, privilege, etc. that many prominent people in society exhibit.
That goes for greed of power as well.

Common sense is defined by Merriam-Webster as, "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts." Thus, "common sense" (in this view) equates to the knowledge and experience which most people already have, or which the person using the term believes that they do or should have. The Cambridge Dictionary defines it as, "the basic level of practical knowledge and judgment that we all need to help us live in a reasonable and safe way".

Basically Common sense means paying attention to the obvious. Such as that Methanol has a tendency to explode around fire! [http://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2010-07.html]
In that case: not a bad choice, sir! It would certainly decrease recklessness/unintentional harm.

I wish people were more honest with each other. Rare is the person who simply tells the truth and doesn't try to hide or dress up things they think people will judge them or dislike them for.

I'd say greed is more like 99.9999999999% of the worlds problem, I really can not think of anything that can't be in some way traced back to money. It's weird really when you think about it money is something that we just invented, yet it is the biggest cause of conflict among people ever.

Less greed would be nice, but you know what, thinking of my cats, I think that humans should be born with retractable genitalia like cats. How nice would it be two remove your junk out of harms way temporarily?

a simple boost in average intelligence would prolly go a long way to curing war/disease/poverty combine that with a boost in productivity and we could prolly solve all of humanities problems in a few decades

People would be more compassionate, aware on how their actions affect others and less likely to exploit others, but would help instead.

Or doomsday machines start getting rolled out en masse. I do wonder whether we would make a cure for diseases, jetpacks, or the best gun EVAR as a whole, given incredible intellect.

I'd remove pride, as I think that'd go a long way towards helping our species.

I was going to go for understanding, but damn that's a good one.

Either understanding (I want every foreign policy in the world to literally be "Peace and Love") or the removal of excess greed. I think that would help the most.
