Deathclaw (ditto what I said with Metriod)
Nightmare from DMC (I hate the guy but an amorphous blow that shoots lasers and transports my enemies to some horrible dimension to fight their greatest rival would be awesome)
One of the Colossus (preferably Phalanx, or #15 for those of you who don't know the name)
Bleu from Shining Force (the original Strategy one, not the hack n slash; seriously who wouldn't want an adorable little death machine, who can also fly you places)

Why wouldn't shinigami count? IIRC, as long as you own a Death Note (even if you don't physically have it), they are very much like a pet, hanging around you. Prinnies, in comparison, are not pets but servants or slaves. You have to either pay them or make them very afraid of what happens if they disobey - otherwise they will bugger off.Emperorpeng said:

Stays invisible for as long as needed, kicks ass if needed, and with its seducing/charming abilities you could secure special treatment for yourself when you want. Plus the succubus seems to sustain itself with something other than food (maybe it drains longevity out of the people it seduces?), so that's less logistics to worry about. Useful and convenient all around.

I like your logic. Ryuk was my favorite character (barring L), particularly his speech at the end of the last episode...it really tied the whole series together.
