If you could live in a fictional world, which would it be?

If I could have superpowers and actually play a role in the world, Earth-616 in the Marvel Universe. But if I'm stuck being a regular bastard then no. I don't want to die due to a Skrull Invasion or some other invasion that seems to happen every other day.

So, if I can't get powers, I guess Pokemon. If every trainer is as shitty as in the games, I'll be filthy stinkin' rich in no time.

The three I'd be most likely to pick have already been mentioned. Star Trek, the Honorverse (because it's cool as fuck), or Equestria, just because cute little ponies that theoretically won't try to eat me. And cute things are cute. I heard that cute is justice.

Aside from those three... less likely choices would be the Axis of Time trilogy, so long as I went back with the Multinational Task Force. Wouldn't want to be a 'temp >.>
And maybe Mortal Engines. I'd want to get myself a nice little airship. Not sure if I'd be a tractionist or anti-tractionist.

Pokemon, where I live out my days telling fellow trainer the magic behind making their own Secret Base...

Other than that... uh... whichever world Fraggle Rock takes place it, I guess... (And, now I'm thinking of a Attack on Titan/Fraggle Rock crossover for some reason...)
Damn, me... You ninja so fine!

But seriously, Pokemon or Fraggle Rock for me...

While it is, admittedly, dangerous, I think I would have to go for Tamriel. Because Magic is just better than science.

And it seems like in Tamriel everyone has some magic ability so it is not a total stretch that I could dedicate myself to becoming a truly powerful Wizard. Anyway, aside from major wars every so often, there are fairly long stretches of peace and prosperity for most of the common people. Especially if you don't keep going into caves looking for trolls.

I'm not sure, I know I can rule out any world without toilet paper though.

How about I go for a pokemon mystery dungeon world. That would be fun assuming I don't get turned into something weak. And I get to ignore my toilet paper rule too!

I remember some friends were having this discussion a few years back (I walked into the middle of it, so I got no idea what started the conversation) and they were going on about how awesome it would be to live in the Dungeons and Dragons universe. To which my jaw dropped, and I screamed 'ARE YOU ALL INSANE?!' They couldn't understand what wasn't to love about it, until I reminded them of all the monsters, and in general bad shit that goes down in a D&D universe. 'You assholes can't even make it to 6th level in our tabletop sessions, and you think you can make it in the actual universe? Sha-right!'

My personal pick would be the 'City of Heroes' universe; just because its power fantasy at its Nth degree. And, I've always wanted pyrokenetic powers. I wouldn't mind being dropped into 'The Secret World' universe, either. I guess its because of the 'behind the curtain' effect. You've always suspected something was 'off' about the world, but you could never put a finger on it.

Star Wars, preferably any time before the fall of the empire is fine.

...I'd rather not have to deal with the shenanigans of the post empire old EU. The new post empire EU i know to little about to comment on, so I'm sticking with anywhere around Empire era and before.

Oh, and sorry for this whole "Trump" thing.

Yeah...I though that up after smoking some serious skunk weed and it just sort of took on a life of its own.
Alright...you and me need to have a talk.

You seem to be the one responsible for this little setting of ours, so I need to ask one very VERY simple question:

Is your world just that exciting that bland shit like this is all that sells in fiction, or are you just a very dull person?

This setting is stagnant, stale and just downright boring. And when it ain't boring, it's bleak as hell.

You couldn't have just given us something to spice it up like magic? Super powerful technology? Full fledged and proper SPACE TRAVEL ala. Star Trek/Star Wars/Mass Effect?

Seriously, you could have done anything ANYTHING with a setting and you came up with THIS!? Dude, go back to the drawing board: Throw a magic returning ala. Shadowrun at us, make us finally crack proper space travel, Have Aliens invade...just give us SOMETHING of proper substance to work with!

And I mean proper substance, something TRULY game changing that changes genre to something more fun or interesting not just another international incident or war with a nation. Something that can finally make this setting cool or fun again.

Spira from FFX, post-Sin, seems like a fairly decent world to live in. The weather's good, the people are mostly peaceful after the 1000 year reign of terror from Sin, advanced technology is slowly making a comeback and magic exists. Sure there are fiends and such running around but for the most part they're not too much trouble.

And I might get the chance to meet and woo Rikku!

Well it certainly depends on what you're allowing us to do in those IPs. Like being a Space Wolf would be awesome, but everything else in the 40k 'verse is absolute misery and pain.

Likewise being in Star Trek or Star Wars but as a janitor on a backwater, living a desperately lonely and sad life, dying unremembered and unloved, isn't worth it.
Disagree there. Sure, there's a lot of nobodies in those worlds, but a lot of them are comfortably well off nobody. Having a boring job with 24th century technology in a (nominally) enlightened society is better than a boring job now. There's lots of rubbish jobs in 40k, but you could live on a civilised world in a safe region where you have to pray to the Emperor all the time but things aren't otherwise too oppressive. Being a SW would really have its downsides.

Of course, Star Trek is a terrible dystopian future full of really thick people with awful fashion sense. Also, we've seen a broad spectrum of a unified space nation and I don't remember any LGBT people...did the Federation delete them?

Provided I was actually a wizard either Age of Wonders 3 or Master of Magic, the chance to become a demigod of magic would kick ass.

If I was assigned randomly in the world probably something similar to the Shantae games universe since those seem relatively lighthearted and I feel like I could probably move myself out of the way of dangerous stuff.

And finally if I was going into a universe where I was guaranteed to be put into a bad position I would probably pick the Supreme Commander Universe(pre-supcom 2) as that would likely put me somewhere I could get out of, with the aid of titanic super machines of course.

Eh, I don't think it works like that. I mean, it's not like they spent all their time on Star Trek being impressed by space travel.

OTOH, sometimes when using my GPS feature on my phone I like to pretend it's the 60s or something, cause only superheroes would have had gadgets like that back then.

Didn't exclude hentai? Rookie mistake...

In all seriousness, probably Harry Potter. I'd be a Ravenclaw or Slytherin for sure.

Ditto to a certain extent (I ain't no rapist or a sadist ahole).

OT- I will be borig by going for the safest universes (as much I would loved to be a Pirate from One Piece or a superhero in Marvel or DC, people still get killed in those worlds) like-

MLP:FiM- Mainly peaceful with an occasional mishap here and there but given to the demographic, it all worked out in the end.

Shirokuma Cafe- Not only would I enjoyed good food in that cafe but all of the animal talked and act like human like having a job and all!

Pokemon- I would rather have them as pet/ friends then to try to compete in the championship!

Metabots- Same as Pokemon but with a single robot pal!

Innsmouth, because I am a massive racist, and would like to live somewhere where my innate fear and distrust of others is usually justified in a hidden, ancient, fish-man culty way.

In all seriousness, I think I'd like to also chime in that I'd rather not be just some background plebian in my new setting- I don't have to be the Chosen One or anything, but something different or specific to the setting, or both.

Having said that, I'd like to be a Scientist from Ix. To witness the rise of the machines... sigh.

No- I'd like to be a Shemitic steel merchant that did sporadic trade with Conan, and once helped him pick a fine sword from my store... which ended with him holding me up with it afterwards (he let me live, just took the sword. And some Aquilonian ale. And he slept with my daughter.)

Do I have to still be human? Or, you know, what I am now?

Fallout it is my favourite world, it is just such an insane blend of the far future and the past and where one right move can make your life and one wrong move can end it. Azeroth is a close second, I would live as a trader and or alchemest in Winterspring.

You know what? I wanna try living in either Middle-Earth or Tyria. Tyria sounds more interesting, though, and slightly less lethal. Also, I got really sad when all the Elves left Middle-Earth and I imagine it'll be considerably poorer for their absence.

Boring?! Are you kidding?

An entire fucking country goes bankrupt and is essentially bought by another? A dating site for affairs that never had any real women on it? A talking carrot with a bad combover is the front runner for Presidential candidate? A narcissist, selfie-absorbed society that can't figure out why no one likes them? Right Wing Republicans? The Kardashians?

Dude, this is a black comedy.

Where I come from, this shit's hilarious.

Cool! Is it in binary, grid or symbol form? What does it say?

If I were to get a tattoo, something from the Culture would be it. I'm in love. But the Culture's refusal to impose on it's population means that they don't use logos or insignias. It might be neat to do a small band of an Orbital, similar to Gurgeh's bracelet given to him by Chamlis.

Once you have a tattoo, you can never again be truly naked :3
