If you could live in a games universe, which one would choose?

Pokemon. Standard. No guarantee I'd have to battle, either. Just an idyllic life of research, I guess, travelling around with my Lucario. (OK, enough battling to get Riolu to evolve, I guess.)

Or I could be one of those dickhead trainers with an army of golbats trained to supersonic on sight, waiting for the main character on victory road. Actually, I like that plan. Also, no wild battles if I don't walk anywhere.
Huh. I guess all those trainers you run into just don't want to run into the usual coterie of bat creatures with crazy confusion powers. Makes sense.

Hrm. I could cheat and say that, since they DID make a few games off of it, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe could technically be an option. If so, I'd choose that, no question.

For an actual video game universe, though, I'd have to say Fable, as long as I was a hero. One of the later Fable games. Not the universe of the first one.

Well, most game universes involve a lot of conflict and strife, and by the numbers I'm just going to be an ordinary person, as opposed to say... the hero of a game, or one of the epic villains. This means I probably wouldn't choose to live in any of them.

I mean I'm enough of a cynic about thr world I live in with all the stuff going on with The Middle East and China, and this being while safe and pretty comfortable right now. In most of these other game universes I'd be eaten by a zombie, killed by aliens, killed by monsters, or whatever else. I mean yeah, sure, the magic, powered armor, super powers, ultra-weapons and whatever else is cool, but I'm a disabled wreck of a human being, not a hero, in any game universe I'm liable to wind up far worse off than I am now.

It's sort of like the whole "Captain N" joke in the "Show About Games Show" with the pillow getting sucked into the video game to have adventures rather than the nerd playing them. Unless heroic super powers go along with the transition, they would probably be better off with the pillow.
