Ghost in the Shell would be kinda cool, but it's a dangerous place. In fact, wwwaaayyy too dangerous for me... So I'll go with Cowboy Bebop, though the economy doesn't look very good in that place, or Fullmetal Alchemist, though the government is warmongering...

You guys are missing the point of the thread, it's not asking which anime world you would want to live in, it's asking what kind of world it would be and what you would do there.

As for me I would be in direct possession of a sword the size of an SUV

Id rather die, Anime is fun to watch but its important to remember if your not the protagonist... your life us mundane or terrifying.

And the protagonist is never happy unless its some porno, And if your motivation for living in an anime is the sex than which anime to choose is the least of your worries.

For me, I'd choose to live in the Gunsmith Cats universe, as one of Rally's sidekicks.

It'd be just like real life (It's in modern day Chicago), except for action-filled bounty hunts and car chases.

Probably in the Naruto universe as someone who isn't a Ninja.

Be a baker or something mundane in that series and you're practically immortal.

Ha, true that, the civilians seem to never die or even sustain injury in that show, while the ninjas are gettin' hurt and killed at every step.

But otherwise, I'd want to be in Cowboy Bebop because of the ships of course, and maybe Bleach cause a Soul Reaver would be an awesome job.

And I definitely would not want to be in Trigun or Elfen Lied (although the latter is my favorite anime ever.)

My Otome would be fun. I'm not into mecha, but I could do a battle-suit magical armor thing. And I have had electric blue hair - it was perfect on me an I am bummed my current employer won't let me dye it. I wouldn't mind being an exchange student at Ouran High School, though given my luck, I'd probably end up in "Welcome to the NHK" instead.

Have to say I agree with all the Cowboy Bebop people, if not just for the awesome style the whole universe has taken on. Getting up to all sorts of hijinks in space while being plain jazzy!

Ghost in the Shell would be cool for all the implants and because its such a detailed world already but it doesn't seem like the best world for the average person.

As long as you were Alucard or Seres then the Hellsing world would rock, otherwise you just end up as a pool of blood.

And I agree, Akira just for the motorbikes (especially since mine is currently bent all-ways from sunday and being repaired...damn taxidrivers)

Ranma 1/2 would be a great one. EVERYTHING is a martial art. Possibly, Robotech/Macross too. I want to fly Veritechs and have the best of all combat. I'd be risking my life but something feels right about it that I can't describe.

if i could live in an anime ey? hmm... id probalby go with school rumble (im aware its not an entirely different world but still...) as meeting real people like that and going to school like that ... would be heaven. though id have a bit of competition with the girls... thats right hanai im looking at you -_-

also dragon ball z (as long as i have super powers.. more than goku would be prefered but just as much would be fine too)

I think the Pokemon world is the safest, and being a huge Pokemon nut, I'd love it. But seeing as how I'd also love to live in a more magical world, I'd go with the worlds from Rune Soldier Louie or Magic Knight Rayearth. To be honest, though, I'd probably benefit the most from a persocom. I'm so forgetful it hurts. =(

Dang it, Whenever i think of this question I can't decide... It'd have to either be something like Bleach or Pokemon. Though i don't think Pokemon is that safe. Anyone remember that tower full of dead pokemon from the first games? Yeah that was creepy...

Hmmmm...only way I would live in most world's would be as a protagonist, and of those I would have to be in Negima, Digimon(preferably Tamers), Robotech, Empowered, or maybe Super robot wars. the few universes I would willingly live in as a normal though are few and far in between, mostly highschool dramas, comedy, or romance manga, all carefully dancing around anything violent since normals die left and right in violent anime.

EDIT: actually Negima is ok to live in when you aren't the protagonist, the body count is usually pretty low.
