...which would you choose and why?

Inb4 Star Trek for the Holodecks. Because that's my answer.

Also, I want to see how they pull off that whole not using money thing.

Sure, the Borg could be an issue, but all I have to do is appear worthless and they'd leave me be. And once I found a holodeck, I pretty much would be.

I would love to live in the Shadowrun universe (from pen and paper not xbox). Not sure if I'd rather be awakened or decker with more computer than grey matter in my skull..actually I think I'd rather be the chromed out decker. Short of Shadowrun, any dystopian cyberpunk type setting would be fantastic.

Warhammer 40,000.

You have to admit every day would be fucking terrifying but at the same time fucking awesome.

What this guy said.

But only if I could be an Ork. Everything else would suck.

If I could not be an Ork, then I'd have to go with the Mass Effect universe. Seems like a fun place to live.

Cowboy Bebop, probably.
The other universes are all in a constant war or danger of extinction. I choose the jazz-and-booze-filled safe way.

I want to live in the universe of Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy(Some time towards the end of the trilogy to be exact). Where Mars is very habitable, the sex is weird, the economy is on the brink of a utopian reform set to pull earth out of the craphole climate change and overpopulation left it in and most importantly, where they have a vaccine that dramatically slows aging... I don't want to die :(

edit: Actually the sex isn't that weird. I recall one of the female protagonists experiencing a 5 hour climax or something like that. Seems about par for the course really. Ladies feel free to PM me.

Star Wars. And I'd be a super powerful jedi who's Luke Skywalker's best friend and my name would be Raven Darkshadow, and they'd discover that I had an even higher midichlorian count than Anakin Skywalker, also they'd be special midichlorians of a new kind, and then I'd fight all the forces of the empire at once and I'd cut them all down with my lightsaber and Leia would say "You're amazing, Raven!" and also now and then I'd eat cookies.

I haven't seen much of it yet but flying around at super high speeds in the mech's from Infinite Stratos would complete me.

The Star Trek Universe. So beautiful and deep, a vast number of races/species, epic spacecraft, warp drive, advance mathematical knowledge etc.

You forgot Holodecks.

Holodecks trump everything else... ever.

Star Trek - Specifically in the federation. Barring borg attacks which are unlikely, they have replicators, colonies and sufficient technology to render capitalism, nationalism, religion and so forth obsolete.

Plus there's holodecks.

Well, you specified Sci-Fi and since somebody's already mentioned Cowboy Bebop, I guess Sci-Fi Anime is ok, so I'll go with Ghost in the Shell.

If that falls through, I'll take being a crew member of Serenity in Firefly :D

Known Space by Larry Niven, if you have read about it you would understand.

Iain M Banks's cultureverse. It's utopia.

As long as I got to live in the Culture.

Full immersion sims? Please. Immortality? Don't mind if I do. Neural laces that can bring me any aspect of information as soon as I need it? Thanks! No boring societal or cultural taboos? Brilliant. Post-scarcity? Icing on the cake. Cultureverse is where it's at.
