I think I would actually be okay with that.
This year seems pretty dead. There a bunch of things that might be cool but I'll consider myself lucky if any of them are keepers.
I'll definitely rent Portal 2, Duke Nukem, and Batman.

Skyrim might be cool but if I get that one I'm getting it for the PC. I'm never again buying a Bethesda game for the ps3.

Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (Been made, all Capcom has to do is pay one guy to translate it and ill show up first day out to buy it.)
Mass Effect 3. Must know how it ends...
A fps/rts hybrid that doesnt suck. That next Command and Conquer that Visceral is making might be like this.

Honourable mentions:
Viewtiful Joe 3. A trilogy without an ending is just a sad thing to have.
Megaman Legends 3.
A new Darkstalkers.

Dis-honourable mentions:
Prototype 2. Activisions cutback of Radical Entertainment has left me doubting that nice trailer they worked so hard to make.
Another Call of Duty. We all know its coming anyway, and most of us can already guess what its going to be like.
