If you could redo a game what would it be?

DMC2 because that game needs to be redeemed and the far future setting (that the fans go with at least) actually has some merit. Having it be Dante's last story before becoming essentially Sparda MKII, and sealing the demons away for X years would also lend itself to justifying a DMC set in the future.

I would have remade Halo Wars to be Halo: Battlefront as opposed to an RTS. It's cool they wanted to bring Halo to such a different genre, but a Battlefront-like game would be perfect for Halo. All the different factions, races and troop types for each faction, lots of interesting environments, it could be awesome. I would rather not get an Xbox One anytime soon, but a game like that would make buy one.

Also, I would make Paper Mario Sticker Star follow in the footsteps of the first two games. They could keep the sticker system for the combat, but the story, environments, and characters were dry and bland compared to the first two games.

Kingdom hearts 365days/2. Its a 3d hack and slash, but on the DS lite, so movement hurts by having to use the D-pad. And the DS's limitations mean lackluster levels with simplistic game play, a step backwards from the kingdom hearts series IMO.

Give it a port like Chain of memories for the ps2, and id be happy.

Oh god so many.

I'd remake Dragon age 2 to be more like dragon age: origins.
Same with Dead space 2 and 3, more Dead space 1 please!
Ditto for final fantasy 13-2 and 13-3 back to 13
I'd make final fantasy 14 a single player game
I'd make Umvc3 balanced ( fuck you virgil and Zero)
I'd make Deus Ex: HR more like Alpha protocol

And i'll stop my whining here .

Mass Effect 2. Cut out Cerberus while it's not too late. And fix the levelling system, because by God, that thing was a mockery of RPG mechanics.

World of Warcraft. No seriously. I would go back and redo the game so that they can design the default bag to be replaceable. That way it won't be a problem when expansions come out with bigger bags that has the players wanting to replace the default bag. Either that or I'd tell them to have the default bag be tied to the character level so that the bag can just auto-upgrade as players get to the expansion levels. Either way, it sucks having a default bag that can't be replaced (apparently they can't change that part of the UI without breaking a bunch of other things in the game) that's half the size of the bags you can get for the other 4 bag slots.

Any other game I'd redo are of the same ilk; cases where I've seen the developers comment about how they wish they had realized or considered something during development, because now that such-and-such fix or feature seems so obvious, it's too hard to code without causing problems and/or needing to nearly re-write the entire game. So now the game is just screaming-out for some change that will never come because it's just not worth the amount of effort it would take.

I'd remake Risen 2 to use the Risen 1 engine. There would still be flaws, but at least the game would be functional and have the very good mechanics of Risen 1. I'd probably also remake Gothic 3 using Risen 1's engine, just to make it more stable.

Xenogears and Secret of Mana, both of which were by the producer's own admission rushed out the door with over a third of their content unfinished, and still became classics despite those gaps. Mana could also use a rebalancing of magic and adjustment of hit detection, and maybe a bonus dungeon or two for both.

Resonance of Fate, I'd redo it with combat that isn't awful. I've tried to get through that game like three times but a game that requires tons of grinding has to have combat that doesn't make me want to kill myself.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

For starters, it would actually have something to do with The Sands of Time trilogy outside of just have the same Prince and a couple references. It was a decent idea to place it into the five year break between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within, but also trying to make it a remake not only made it feel more disconnected from the events of the past games and made it feel like a cash-in but it also left the story opening up more plot holes than closing. For instance, they sort of imply that the medallion The Prince has in Warrior Within came from a relic he found in The Forgotten Sands, but that makes absolutely no sense when it is clear the medallion in Warrior Within has connections to The Island of Time, something that the relic in The Forgotten Sands has absolutely no connection to. Personally, I would make the story actually be able The Prince's decent into his hardened state during Warrior Within and actually make it about everything he endured from The Dahaka during that period.

Also, I would make the combat more like the older games but just allow the powers to give it more depth, similar to how the powers functioned to add more to the platforming and puzzles. From a gameplay perspective, the combat was by far the worst aspect of it, and the game actually would have been much better than just average if they had actually given us a decent combat system like the old games.

Off the top of my head, it would be Ghost Recon Future Soldier's multiplayer. The game has some of the best ever 3rd-person shooter controls, the cover swap system is definitely a game changer for the TPS. There's just so much wrong with game from overpowered items (the backscatter scope lets you see through walls all game long), to spammable items like noobtubes and grenades, all the classes being overpowered, broken game modes, and horrible netcode. With all that, it's still the be online TPS currently just by default as all the current online TPSs just suck.

I Platinumed Resonance of Fate, the game does not require grinding. The combat system is good, it just needed more depth like adding shotguns and sniper rifles. There's really only 2 strategies you ever need to employ all game (either scratch first or gauge break first), you never even have to use items.

Brink.
But less redo and more delay. I think it had a great idea behind it. Hell, take out the mechs and Titanfall looks a little like a bunch of Light Weight class guys traversing the map, so it's not as if it was a an unwanted idea.
So, if anything I'd have delayed it so the single player could become more separated from the multiplayer and so it didn't launch when the PSN was down for a month; That had to of hurt sales.

Brutal legend since that game had so much going for it. Give the single player the third campaign everybody was expecting, tighten up the car physics and work on the multi player balance and the game could have gone from good to great.

Wet reeked of unfinished thoughts. I guarantee that I could take the ideas it began and run with them to create something special. Then again, anybody who's ever had a lasting vision for a Kill Bill video game could probably do that.

Rune Factory: Frontier - I'd remove the Runey system. It's not good when you spend more time micromanaging spirits with a magic dustbuster than you do farming and exploring dungeons.

Mass Effect 2 - Remove the fucking ammo system.

Shin Megami Tensei IV

First I would allow you to control the random party member as well as choose which one to use. There were a number of battles that took me a while, because the AI would attack causing the enemy to grin, and then the next attack I would die in one hit. If I could control the person, I would make sure they didn't screw me over. I would also get rid of the Grinning because it doesn't need to be there.

I would make the later stuff be a bit more difficult. The beginning is Brutal, like Nocturne, but later on it is a cakewalk unless you have an AI buddy screwing it up. Nocturne was difficult, but if you were smart and planned well, you could still win. I remember beating Beelzebub on my first try because I was careful, and that was great. The final few parts were way to easy.

I'd also make it so that you didn't have to finish every single side quest to complete the neutral ending. Beyond that, I liked it. Hopefully they fix some of the stuff up so SMT V is good.

Fable 3. They said I could be queen/king. They lied. I would have liked to see them actually have you really managing the kingdom writing laws and building buildings rather then making a handful of A or B choices. Then the game had all kinds of other broken ideas that could have worked if they tried them. Maybe.
