If you could tell any game developer one thing what would it be?

I would go to Lionhead and show them the original Fable. I would make them play it and realize that they had something good going on. Id tell them to stop with the "innovation" and stick with what they know works. I'd also say a few swear words to good ol' Peter.

But in all seriousness if you could really tell any game developer one thing what would it be?

In b4 Valve and Episode 3!

Nintendo: I love you guys, you defined my childhood. But please, no more motion controls. PLEASE, no more motion controls.

Ubisoft: Please make a Prince of Persia/Assassin's Creed crossover.

Treyarch: Please, don't make the same mistakes as IW. You seem to be doing everything ok so far.

I'd go up to Bobby Kotick, slap him across the face and say "Stop making Call of Duty." I'd also go into LJN and slap all those that work there shouting "You ruined me childhood"

"your publisher is an asshole"

because whoever the developer is, in fact whatever form of media they develop for, its probably true. publishers are always on a mission to murder innovation and depth; games, movies, books, radio... actually comics seem to still be doing whatever the comic writers want.

hmm... guess i have a fallback hobby should online move-aim-shoot become the epitome of complexity for videogames.

I'd tell Cliffy B or Chris Metzen that I would totally go gay for them and do whatever the hell they asked me to.

I would go to square enix and delete all data on ff13 and "encourage" them to move on to 15, while they bribe the team behind ff6 to come back, I would go to Activision and tell them a reinvisioning isn't the same as a remake, (Not Goldeneye) and I would tell Satonaka of metroid fame he is forbidden from metroid and to give it back to Retro, they who even when they "failed" (seriously fans think Metroid Prime Echos sucked?) still churned better games then him. (he who made Samus scared of Ridley)

What about THQ? They're pretty awesome and Dawn of War and Company of Heroes were pretty unique for RTS games, along with a bunch of other stuff.

Anyways,

Treyarch: Dont fuck up.

Eidos (@ Deus Ex 3): Dont fuck up.

Bungie: Build a Men in Black style ray to make everyone think there was only one Halo, then restart the series without the extra bullcrap.

Ubisoft: Where the hell is Beyond Good and Evil 2!!??

4A Games (creators of Metro 2033): Outstanding 4A! Out-fucking-standing!

Well, it's obvious. While reading the following sentence, try to imagine slapping Gabe Newell in the face between each word.

"MAKE. EPISODE. THREE. YOU. DOUCHEBAG."

I'd go to every developer that pushes their engine, develops new technologies to show the world. And -then- makes a game for -that- engine. I would shake their hands, encourage them to always do that kind of work. I like companies that push technology first, then make games second because they always make great games with great ideas on technology they know how to use and have streamlined themselves.

I'm confused; it's an open world game, why don't you just play it again? Or will you only throw away your money if it's in a dignified manner of your choosing?

Apart from smacking Valve over the heads for Episode 3, smacking SCE Santa Monica over the heads for killing the amazing character that Kratos was at the end of GoWI, smacking Blizzard over the head for destroying people's lives, and giving big hugs out to all the great indie devs, I'd probably... idk.
Apart from some concepts I'd like to see explored by an actual developer, there isn't much. Perhaps unload my opinion on what Valve should and shouldn't do to TF2.

Naughty Dog: Guys, please, PLEASE make a true Jak 4 for PS3.

Bioware: The Old Republic is all well and good, but what about a direct sequel, as in KOTOR 3, with say an opening cinematic that gave us some decent closure on KOTOR 2?

Rare: Man, what happened to you guys? Go back to Nintendo, where you belong. Then you can start making your epic games again :)

I would ask a Bioware developer to give some kind of Ashley/Kaien DLC just like what the Liara fans got, and hopefully some kind of important role in the third game to make up for all the crap that one of my favorite characters got in the second.
Seriously next to Wrex, Ashley was consistently my favorite character in the series and nothing hurts more than to see her get shafted to the side like that with almost zero acknowledgment afterward.
