Assuming I had the ability to return to the current time with this device there are several things I'd do. I'd visit different places in the past just to see what they looked like in their primes; Ancient China/Japan, Roman Empire, Egypt circa building of pyramids, Ankor Wat during it's use (coolest temple in the world, imho), and Babylon to see if there was a tower.

I would of course be as discreet as possible to avoid disrupting the space-time continuum. I would also take a field trip to the future to simply see what happens. If I happened to come across a future time where humans and aliens live together and technology looks good, I might just stay.

I'd gather technology, knowledge, and weapons, then bring them back to arm a certain group of people... and thus, Unification would occur just like it did in the history books. Well, it would start in the same country, anyway.

Probably go to Moscow in 1941 walk up to Stalin and Break dance my ass off in front of him...

Then I'll come back and wear one every day. You love it.

I'm probably going to regret posting this, but I'd go back in time and stop all the major religious prophets from gaining a following and then come back to present time just to see what the hell the world would be like. Provided said experiment didn't create a black hole time paradox of epic proportions, I'd plagiarize the shit out of both the Harry Potter and Twilight books. Then I'd buy stuff. A lot.
