not so much eliminate, but at least STOP MAKING:
Mario
Zelda
Sonic
Final Fantasy
Wii games that have no purpose than to keep 5 year olds occupied-this can be eliminated

I would remove the concept of having to connect to the internet to play single player games, thats like puting wheels on a house.
What game does that?

Quick movie cash ins should be wiped.

I hereby remove the Wii from gaming. I will not have my gaming life boiled down into a stick waving gimmick, nor will I settle for its last-gen hardware or shitty selection of games. The only thing I can really credit it for is having a few more unique concepts than its competition.
Removing the Wii from gaming would be a very bad idea in the long run.

The only thing id like to change is the Vet mode in CoD games. Rather than making the game itself more difficult by adding more enemies or something, they just change it so it takes 3 bullets to kill you and everyone goes straight for you. Everyone.
Those shots coming at you from no where? Thats a guy with a pistol whos about 5 miles away. Not only is he shooting at you, but hes hitting you. Oh, and the fact that everyone (except you and your team of course) has an ordinace stockpile larger than Cold War-era America and Russia combined.

Okay stop stop stop stop STOP.

I'm just going to touch base on Final Fantasy. They are not Sequels. Each of them is a self-contained story or world often made by a different development team that has no connection to any previous title (Except the ones that are Sequels like X-2 and Revenant Wings)

Stop treating it like you treat Mario, or Sonic, or Link, because anyone who has actually played more than one knows they tend to not be alike, and that is simply a blind statement made by... well stupid people.

You could say stop making Final Fantasy, and then Square would still release another JRPG, with the same dynamic as Final Fantasy, they don't have to use the name, they do it out of respect for a franchise that SAVED THEIR ASSES from Bankruptcy.

I also love people who ***** about stuff that doesn't affect them. It's like if you don't like it then no one must and it MUST be Destroyed/Stopped.

What about NEW gamers? are we supposed to be abandoning them to the wolves because you have a limited view?

NOTE: Half way through this stopped being directed at you and more went into Gamers in general
While each FF is somewhat standalone, they have similar themes, concepts, and game designs that bind them all together. I can tell when I'm looking at an FF game as opposed to a different RPG, even if any two FF games aren't exactly alike. Now, if they can continue to come up with something new and original within that framework, great, but if they're relying on a title to earn them more sales when the content is repetitive or empty, then that's not great. Not that I think FF is doing that now, but do I think they could be in danger of that, and need to keep it in mind. There's a delicate balance between keeping a good franchise going and knowing when it's been exhausted of potential. Hopefully Square will know when it's time to send the series out with a bang (rather than a whimper).

And Square is big and reputable enough now they could do something else revolutionary without the FF title and probably still be quite successful.

I think the first poster had a point that while repeating franchises attracts, it is easy to use something to the point of repetitiveness with no innovation, and then people begin to associate the title with "Oh, no, not another one," rather than, "Yay, a new game!"

Games need to really get rid of invisible walls. They make levels feel cramped, linear, and boring. Especially on games with wonderful enviroments. It's frustrating when there's an invisible wall 5 inches from an actual wall so the character seems to just stand still. Then there's the tiny mini-wall the character somehow still can't jump over. That needs to stop.

I'd get rid of FPS's with controllers. It should be illegal. Mouse and Keyboard FTW

Is it a bad thing that I don't know what that stands for?
Quick Time Events.

Basically, interactive cutscenes, and probably the biggest flaw in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Give me a second, I have a picture that really expresses my views on them.

Can you give me an example of a QTE in something yhatzee keeps going on about them but I don't get what he means ?
Where a button flashes on the screen and you have to mash it until it goes away or you die. That or pressing a combination of buttons that appear on the screen in a certain order, or you die.

First time I ever encountered them was Resident evil 4, and I have despised it ever since.
If there over done and get you killed then yeah QTE's are obnoxious and annoying,
but... i think god of war pulled them off beautifully, since you don't directly die from any of them to my knowledge except for 1. And there is a gorey bonus at the end of them.

We should wipe save points from gaming. To hell with them...I should be able to save wherever I please, not either on the world map or at specific points.

ALL of those games involving the Wii, Nintendo, Mario, Wario, paper, bros, super, platforming, etc. They all suck, make a huge amount of money and we all fall for the same old boring rubbish!

Acheivements.
Acheivements need to die.
I agree completly. IMO its a cheap and lazy way to extend gameplay, and people are morons for being stupid enough to get sucked in and keep replaying games purely so they can boast they have.

A housemate of mine recently replayed a few games, several times in a week, JUST to get more precious achivement points... Its pathetic :\

"Well done! You played the game! Have a gold star!"

Escort Missions
Leaving AI at stupid(no pathfinding, just point at player)
Shovelware Casual Games
Staying with the same formula for 3 years
Games advertised to be the best of the year when they are the worst.

Ok, I went rather general over the game creation. doh.

WoW, then there wouldn't be any doubt that Warhammer is the best MMO out there right now.

Well, I don't like the concept of denying developers tools, so I don't know about "wipe", but...

In general, I don't like cutscenes; it bothers me when I should have control of the character, but don't.
There are admittedly, times when it is suitable to put one in - to explain backstory, I suppose.

Online Multiplayer.
It seems most games focus on it now and I can't play online multiplayer games at all.

Games like Dune, Starcraft and Shattered Galaxy.

I'm not a fan of viewing and controlling a group of people like a god.

Even less of a fan when I have to spend most the time mining and constructing little buildings that I really don't know the point of.

It just bothers me. I don't know what the genre is though.

Real Time Strategy, Specifically War.

I like playing god to an army and then beating my douche of a brothers ass. hehehe oh Warcraft 3 what good times you gave me.
Games like Dune II and Starcraft gave me some of my most enjoyable game experiences ever. Zerg rushes or Death Hand missles to the face always made me laugh malevolently.

I would like to see the whole idea of Atari erased from history, maybe the game crash wouldn't have happened.
Without Atari there may not have been a boom.

mmos. the one i played was called runescape, and it was basically a wow ripoff. i eventually decided i didnt like grinding anymore cuz thats what your doing 90% of the time, not that i ever liked it anyway. one of my friends still plays though, and i never really see him anymore anyway. but as far as im concerned, mmos can fall in a ditch and die.

i know this is actually impossible but if i could i would say that i would like to take away the general arsyness of people who call themselves gamers, particularly ones that specifically use the word "hardcore". i would love to be a gamer, but i cant now mainly do to the fact that i dont have a job and the fact that i can barely use a computer for anything other then the internet, so i rarely play computer games anyway. back on topic, the one thing that would hold me back once i fix this is that whenever people say they are a gamer then anyone who hears this will assume they are a prick (i think people are starting to realize that you can play video games and not be a nerd). whenever i see a person like that a part of my soul dies, and i want to kill them with a big stabitty knife as repayment. i want to kill them until they die.
