If you could, would you start your own business? (Bar, Restaurant, Etc.)

Now that I'm near to finishing college I have been thinking more about what I would like to do with my life. It was then that a friend of mine from High school called me and told me of his plans to open his own restaurant. He also flattered me by hiring me to create a few advertisements for him.

I remember when it was not to long ago that I thought about opening a sports-bar, but decided against that.

I had also thought about opening a brothel too, unfortunately such practices are illegal and mostly frowned upon...

So fellow Escapists, any one else out there have a business dream of their own?

I dont really have a business dream, but if I ever created or co created a business, Id probably be an epic fail. But I know I wont be the only one to say Id like to have my video game business. ^_^

Also I thought prostitution was legal in nevada unless I missed a turn of events. Just throwing that out to you...

I'm starting a games company with a friend at the moment. We're starting small (as we have two people, two machines and some open source freebie software), making flash games like Tower defence and all that nonsense, but I have high hopes that one day I'll be rich and succesful, and in a position to knock out high budget mediocre piles of wank, then moaning when people pinch them off the internet instead of paying into my 'New BMW fund'.-Tell you what though, game art and design is a much bigger ball ache than I thought it would be-I'm begining to understand why so many games have shit graphics...

If I had a solid amount of capital and the complete trust in the people I was to work with, as well as faith that the product I was going to make would sell. Then sure, I'd go for it. Hardly being a Venture Capitalist though.

I would love to own my own metal bar ideally. Or just any bar will do, maybe a bar/nightclub thing. That would be awesome. I love metal and I love bars, if I could combine the 2 I would be soo happy.

Id love to own a restaurant too actually, or at least get some experience working in a real one. Currently I am a customer care dude in McDonald, basically all I do is help people(my McDonald's is a nice one, probably better than your crap one).

But yeah I do like all that providing a good time with food and drink stuff. I think I would do a bitching job at both. Maybe not ruining it, since I am not a businessy kind of guy. But I defo have some awesome experience at similar work.

If any Irish people on here are serious about that stuff I would love to get into it with you. As I am also an investor, aka I have money.

Glad I can help. But youd have a little competition, they do have a show called cat house that talks about prostitution and how many customers they get. (No, I dont watch it, I just saw a documentary about a murder there and they talked about the show.) So you wont be the only brothel/whorehouse/cat house/ prostitution ring out there. It is true though, it would be a serious competition if I decided to start it. But competition is what makes it great!

i would open up the worlds first "obstacle racing circuit" which basically pits racers of all kinds in whatever vehicle they wish on my crazy courses. mix mario kart and burnout and there you go, of course i'll have legal papers protecting me so the idiot on a segway cant sue me cause he got hurt on the course. best course i'll have is one where you'll have a net and be chasing a penguin on a remote controlled tonka truck with nos boosters and whoever catches the penguin first wins!

I'd open a Videogame store where the employes can't be idiots/jerks to the customers and actually have to know games. Not just the fact that MW2 exists.

Sounds kinda lame ? Trust me. Where I live I strive for the day that a store like that opens.
