You know, Ive seriously considered that as a name as well...I hesitate, however, because though that name is associated with the anime, it's mainly associated with a well known porn actress.

The other idea is Mariel. I remember reading Mariel of Redwall as a kid and absolutely loving the name. Both those names, I think, may be inspired by geeky things, but not so much that it will lead to awkward times at school. Also, a daughter with a role model of Mariel of Redwall is not a bad idea.

I've considered that too... but since everyone who knows me knows I love 90's music I would just make her middle name Alice and say that she's named after Layne Staley from Alice in Chains... which of course still references Serial Experiments Lain...<.<
