Day 1: Kill the president.
Day 2: New president, kill him.
Day ???: Repeat.
Eventually nobody wants to be president. Politicians stop spending thousands of dollars on ad campaigns just so that they can make a bunch more money from some special interests. Mission f***ing accomplished.

I'd use it and have a damn good time doing so. I saw someone asking where you'd draw the line? Why would there be a line for me anymore?
Not only that, but you forget that with the Death Note comes an unseen and fascinating ally. A Shinigami, right?
Can you imagine the fun you could have by killing off all those who piss you off to the insane chucklings of an amoral entity that was wondering how much fun it'd have on our world?

To coin a phrase; 'I love the smell of death notes in the morning. It smells like... adventure!'

Not only would i use the death note, I'd use it daily. I begin by killing the top five levels of every government, No exceptions. Then I'd pretty much use it to enforce world peace regardless if people want it or not. I would of course trade half my life for the Shinmagami eyes

I´d burn it, because that responsability isn´t up to me. And I saw Deathnote. Nope.

Then I would call Chuck Norris to take down all Shinigamis. I just don´t like them.

I'd abuse it. There are so many people whose names I want to write. If this makes me an appalling person, so be it. That's how it is.

i wouldn't use it, just hang on to it to keep it out of the hands of anyone who would. i'd make an exception if someone who had a terminal illness asked to die, to spare a doctor assisting a suicide (they can get into a lot of trouble for that and i don't see it as a crime to help someone die painlessly in his or her sleep). but other than that, i don't believe in killing people.

Use it excessivly, but don't be a passionate idiot about it. Go to a internet café, and search both facebook and criminal records to find the biggest idiots/criminals the world needs to get rid off.

Overpopulation gets solved, people will herald the new comming of Kira as their new god, etc etc etc.

Who'd need shinigami eyes in this day and age anyway?

Okay, so If someone uses the Death Note, they cannot go to heaven or hell.

That means that Heaven and Hell exist.

Which means that If I wanted to kill someone, I would end up seeing eternal...blackness after I die.

Nah. I would rather work from then on to get to heaven and burn the Death Note. Because eventually I might snap and use it. Better safe than sorry.

The reality is that I wouldn't use it as I couldn't knowingly kill other people.

But if I did use it..I'd really use it much the same way as was done in the show. Use it to punish known murderer's, rapists and the like in the hope that it may send a message to those who do wrong.

Unlike the show, I wouldn't use it to kill people who try to do me personal harm or those that try to bring me to justice. Admittedly, it would be tempting to use this on people who have strong political power or corporate power that are preventing long-term positive change in our world in favor of short term profit.

I wouldn't use it. I would probably keep it with me so no one else did and to have an awesome imaginary shinigami friend, but that's pretty much it.

Details of death, right? First, get the eyes of the Shinigami. Then, using the Deacth Note, make it so someone else finds and uses the Death Note, gets the Shinigami eyes, tells me how much time I have left (this would all be part of an incredibly elaborate death), and then beats himself to death with a hammer (or something). Then, using the Death Note, I would write my own Death into it many years into the future (with description of life, so that I can avoid living but being crippled or something). Then... well, it's the Death Note. I would kill a lot of people. And it would be in intewrnational; world News would be useful for that.

Also, part of my elaborate, very detailed death is that I would find out whether there is a Heaven/Hell/afterlife or not, and if there is, use the Death Note to avoid not being sent there (All users of the Death Note do not go to heaven or hell upon death). Basicaly, as part of my Death, it would be written that I'd be allowed to go where I would have went as if I has never found the Death Note. Since the Death Note itself is probably the most evil thing I'd ever use, if I neutralize that, I'd have pretty good chances of going to the place upstairs, rather than down.

Who cares about the heaven / hell stuff. I'm an atheist i'll keep rotting in my grave with or without the deathnote :)

I dunno what i'd do. Either i destroy it or i'll probably lose my self with the power that book holds.
Being a deathgod is not something a human mind can bear without getting crazy i think.

Yes, I'd use it to make them confess all the horrible things they've ever did and kill themselves along with other people.

Also, you have the rules wrong. They are as follows:
1. The human whose name is written in this note will die, so long as you have their face in mind. Thus sharing the same name will not be affected.
2. You have 40 seconds to state the cause of death, if nothing is stated after 40 seconds they die of a heart attack.
3. After stating the cause of death, you have 6 minutes and 40 seconds to write out the details of the death.

I would refuse. Killing is bad. That sounds childish perhaps, but it is what I would do. And my reasoning.

I think I'd set it up with mail merge on OpenOffice or something, get rid of all the war criminals, etc. Does it have to be written physically?
