I can tell you what I wouldn't do, I wouldn't immerse the device in liquid.
Odds are, I'd probably just put a blue portal in my house and then take the device with me so that when I go out for parties and I'm worried about my house I can just go back and check on it without having to walk all the way home.

I would set a portal in front of my room. Anyone who wants to sneak in will be set back in the basement.

Or: Leave a bag of chips floating between two gravity points. Just to grab it in the air.

OR: Use it for transportation to work, what would spare me a lot of hours. (If I need to keep making portals I might get sick.)

One portal at home, one at work, bye bye commuting time. Save myself a lot of money on transport that way.

Also would be a great tool for loading equipment into venues.

Sneak into funerals and put a portal where the coffin will be lowered. Stalk the family and put the other portal in their homes. Drive them the fuck insane by having their loved one's corpse suddenly appear in their homes.

Find someone who could graft it onto my arm.

From there, I could use it at my will. Having both portals and particle field in it. Making and closing portals with my mind. Then I could have some real fun. Making things disappear, reappear, fly and break. Since I want to harness it, I would have a function to make portals any size I would want.

I'd get a long pole, make a portal in the ground, make a portal on the roof, stick the pole down through until it met itself, fuse the pole to itself, drop the pole so it's infinitely in that one spot, then move one of the portals and see what happens.

Probably use it for recreation, like bring it to a cottage and put one on the side of a cliff overlooking a lake, and the other on the ground beside a cottage. Jump off the roof, and launch horizontal into the lake. Charge $10 a go, and you're set.

Or just to puzzle people and piss them off for such useless abuse of a great invention, put one on the front and one on the back of the same door.

For a while? Dude, you'd go faster and faster so if someone were to remove the portal you would get shot right into the ground and splatter.

I'd probably see if i couldn't find some way to get into Area 51 or something
