Also would be a great tool for loading equipment into venues.

When I was at home I'd shoot the home portal into a locked empty room until I needed it.

It's been a while since I've done Physics but:

It depends on the height of the bullet, but it will fall at the same rate as if it was simply dropped. I find that cool.

First I would see how high I could go after jumping out of a plane. I.e, Put one on the ground, get in plane, fly, leap and put down the second one just before I hit the ground.
Points to observe are, people's faces as they see a dude go straight through the ground and back on the airport runway when a dude just pops out of the ground.
Also theres the personal mindfuck factor of nearly dying a splatty death followed by the sudden reversal of your entire perspective.

The portal does not affect momentum, you will basically be falling at terminal-velocity and at that speed you will just pop out of the portal and smack yourself flat against the roof of the plane. Mindfuck indeed. But not the kind you would want.

on gamefaqs someone made this topic and 99% were "i'd put one on a peice of wood, one on a wall and fuck myself".

for me though i'd learn to fly a plane, put one at my house, then when i'm in the air i'd say i'm going to the toilet, go throughgh a portal to my house and then like 10-15 minutes later i'd re-appear and everyone would have freaked out. the plane would be in auto-pilot while i'm gone, naturaly.

sorry mate that only works in a frictionless vacuum and then it doesn't really help with the question anyway, it would only tell us how long i would take to reach a halt if we knew the muzzle velocity and the decelleration of the bullet.

I would use the portal to freak people out at school; putting one on a chair in the back of the class and one of the portals on a chair in the front and just change seats instantly every 10 seconds. Or use it for practical jokes, like putting a portal on a doorknob and the other one in a jar of slime; and watch people trying to open the door. But i'll be wanting to try new things with that portal gun, leading myself to the darkside and eventually kill myself by trying to fly through a city by constantly shooting the next portal on another skyscraper. I actually think everyone with a portal gun would eventually kill themselves.
