Samuel (shortened to Sam). It isn't weird (obstacle avoided), it isn't too common (not like Matthew, Alex or Jack) and it is very role neutral, so you aren't dooming him to a life of either being a friendless nerd, or to a life of brainless football with no intellectual or emotional depth.

Or Chris. Chris is a good name, but like others have said, don't spell it funny and don't try and be creative.

i shall name him... Mini-me! MWUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

No but seriously my son is named soren... it was the name of a friend just before we moved. it was only after we filled out the birth certificate that we were informed that soren was also the name of the villian in star trek generations.

Lukas, for the evident "I am your father" reference.
Leonidas because it is pretty beast of a name
If not, look at the names or relatives, or famous people from history (Don't pick Adolf)

If Bourbon becomes an uncle, he can show them how he does his work...

allrighty. My wife and I are having a really hard time picking a boys name for our next child (if it's a girl, we have that squared away). So I turn to you, escapist forum. What are some good boy names?

PS. We have ruled out Sue and Skeletor ;(
May I ask what name you picked for if it's a girl please? Im a curious person.
If it is a girl: Casey Jeaneanne ^^
I love that name! good choice :)

I always liked Lucian, or alternatively Lucius. It's not really common and it means "Light" so I've always thought it was rather cool.

I've always been a fan of Joseph as a boy's name and Elizabeth as a girl's name. They're common, but I just feel that they're nice names.

Morgan just seems to be a really nice name for either gender, too.

EDIT: I'm not a fan of unusual baby names. To me, it just puts across that the parents have themselves in mind more than the kid when naming them.

But then they have to have another son, and name him whatever they didn't pick for the first, so when Artyom has kids they will look up to 'Unkle Baourban'. (See, I saw what you did there :p)

OT: I like Daniel, Colin, or Nicolas for boys' names. My boyfriend's middle name is Daniel, so should we have a child his name will likely be Daniel Bagocheetos Phillips. (Don't ask.)

Daniel or Griffin.

The former because I like it, the latter to carry on my own. I've always wanted the sub-title "The 2nd", I'm hopeful my son will. x:

Sell his naming rights to a large corporation. Seriously, it happens all the time.

Although he will hate you if he turns out to be named coca-cola peterson or what ever.

I doubt I'll have much choice because from what I hear the woman has final word on the naming of a child (not officially but you know what I'm getting at) but I'd like to name my first son after my Opa (grandfather), Walter. Probably give him the middle name of my other Opa, William. I just think it's nice.

EDIT: Wasn't trying to sound sexist or anything, just referring to the fact my boss recently had a child and the mother threw every name idea he had out the window. =P

My lord,
Or something actually sensible, like Arthur or John or Ben or William. If you want to be boring.

Or perhaps [your name here] Jr. Or [ditto] II
Yes. The world needs more people with the title "The Second".
