I am curious to know what everyone is looking for in a partner, and how high everyone's standards are.

As for myself, I would want someone similar to me, yes. However, I'd want them to be a bit more levelheaded than myself. I tend to blow everything out of proportion and make irrational decisions. It'd be nice to have someone to just be like 'dude, chill'.

The one thing I know about my ideal partner is that I'd want him to be sensitive and understanding, but willing to put reason before petty gain on behalf of either partner. Also, I'd want him to share in the housework, child-rearing and other mundane tasks all too often left to the woman because the man doesn't give a damn.
I want a man who would be proud of what he does, and motivate me in my career by his dedication, without becoming absorbed in his work. That's a really tough balance to maintain.

Since having children typically involves sex, in the physical department, I just need someone who I could tolerate being intimate at my person.

You may want to lower your standards to silver...gold pooping ones are rather rare.

Mine would definitely be a quieter girl who shares some (not all) of my interests...looks kind of matter, but I generally find "normal" girls much more attractive than "super models" anyways. I've also found that having an okay taste in music is almost a must...I'm not sure why, but when people listen to certain kinds of music, I almost find it impossible to be attracted to them.
