If you had unlimited money?

If you had a sum of money beyond comprehension, and had no choice other than to give it away to a gaming company of your choice, anonymously, who would it be? Keep in mind, you cannot tell them what to do, you have to trust their judgement. Which company should be free of the limits of money, of overly cautious investors, of pushy publishers and time, to make games purely for the sake of making the best games ever?

Ubisoft, probably.
Or maybe Zynga, if I'm in a bad mood and want to troll the world.
EDIT: Blizzard is a viable option too.

I'd either give it to Notch to help out with making Minecraft even more awesome, or I'd give it to Frictional games so they can keep terrifying me with awesome releases forever.

That's a hard one... Fine, I'll be the first of many who would give it to Valve. Maybe they'll feel entitled to continue making the Half Life games, then.

I would give it to Blizzard except that my sum would probably not matter (due to their insane amount from WoW subs). Hmm, most likely Valve...

I would probably give it to volition, relic, or if I could THQ as a whole.

I would divide it equally among every game developer in the world. A millionth of infinity is still, mathematically, infinity. Everybody wins!

Atlus. For me, that really is the only correct answer.
Or maybe Nitro+, they make some of the freakiest horror games I've ever played. Saya no Uta is like having an IV with pure adrenaline and nightmare fuel fed directly into your veins. I still have nightmares about that one.

Can I give it to my own? Me and my mate actually plan on developing some indie titles once we're properly settled in to University... Beat that loophole!

Some independent, small game company probably. Like those guys that made Magicka, or the Braid guy.

Or brunothepig.

I'd give it to Bungie, or Valve. Or force them to merge and create the best games in the world.

No love for the Extra Credits idea? Despite their game plan being pretty similar to what you outlined, I think they'd be a good choice to bring in a multitude of interesting unknowns and trying to make something special.

Getting OCRemix/theShizz guys on all the soundtracks would be beautiful too.

I'd probably go with Sucker Punch. They really only have two well known series of games, but they are a very good studio.

Apart from them, Bioware. Because im a massive mass effect fanboy. :)

Bad plan given that Blizzard simply prints money.

Personally, I would found my own game studio. Then, so as to not violate the restriction of not telling anyone what to do, I would go on to try and hire as many brilliant people as I could. Once I had a dozen or so notable designers, I would give them the resources they needed to build small production teams. These twelve teams would be divided into four groups. From there, they would be free to work on any project they chose for a period of one year before presenting their work to a panel consisting of the other lead designers in the other groups. The other groups would then vote upon the projects presented using whatever metric they wanted and the game they chose would enter full production. Positions within said production team would be filled by (willing) members of the other groups and, if necessary, acquired from outside the company. The process would then start again but new groups would be chosen (e.g if groups 2, 6 and 10 were chosen, then new teams might be constructed of the remaining 9). Production deadlines would be set at four years, a figure that is double what most games get.

Such an environment fosters competition as well as cooperation, gives an enormous amount of time (with respect to the average) and would generate four games per year. Since my company has been started with an inconceivable sum, all profits (In other words, if the game covers production costs) made for the company would go to the team in whatever manner they wish.
