not counting my piano lessons when I was five, my first instrument was trombone and I can't remember the first OR the last song I played on that damn thing. after that came the drums, I started by playing along to the country songs on Beck's "Stereopathetic Soul Manure" and I'd play anything that had a beat to it.
For guitar, the first two songs I learned (can't remember which was first):
'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd
'Everlong' by Foo Fighters
A weekago I started learning the following five songs:
'Journey to the Center of the Mind' by the Amboy Dukes
'I Don't Wanna Grow Up' by Tom Waits
'R.A.M.O.N.E.S.' by Motorhead
and my two new favorites to play:
'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' by CCR
'My Back Pages' by The Byrds, originally Bob Dylan
The catch: I'm playing in a Ramones festival and these are all songs covered by The Ramones!
