I don't know if this is the same for other countries, but in America in order to get a four year degree you need around 50-60 credit hours in core classes such as english,math,history,etc... This is done to eliminate students by the time they start their major.(and make more money)

Anyway which classes, other than basic english and math, would you require your students to take? They can exist or you can make them up.

I personally would make them take First Aid/CPR and Sports Appreciation(How to understand and enjoy watching major team sports). Personally, I just think that not looking like an ass at my boss's super bowl party will get me farther in life than a lecture on famous artists.

Nothing. I see university as the opportunity to learn shit you are actually interested in. First Aid is mandatory if you want to get a drivers licence. I see no advantage in any Sports Appreciation class. Where is the problem to flat out admitting that you know jack shit about a sport and try to enjoy the sensation of learning something in a company of people who are passionate about it instead of dry and boring classes where people are forced to be?

(To clarify: At my University I have mandatory classes but in nearly all cases they are related to the subject of study. But you can also try and get some of those mandatory classes replaced by other subjects. A buddy of mine got some of his credits from Biology related classes when he studied Physics)
I would love it if university was 4 straight years of your chosen field, alas it is not where I live. By the way, is first aid mandatory where you live in order to get a drivers license or did you mean you would make it mandatory?

History of (Whatever your degree is in, yes even history), whatever you are studying you should know where it came from, why it came about, what the context was for the large changes/discoveries/whatever what different movements have effected it etc etc

I would probably make everyone partake in something like the Stanford Prison Experiment. Or, if that's too cruel, at the very least I would disguise a reenactment of the Milgram Experiment.

Or, in all seriousness, I would ensure that everyone be required to undergo testing to determine their Myers-Briggs Personality Type.
