I imagine that it is the first level, it tests the controls and tells you how to play because a cutscene is'nt generally in 1st person

...Did you play Call of Duty 4?
All of the cut scenes were in first person.

OT: Well, it ruined the game by showing us all the cool parts.
As every day passes, this game seems to get worse and worse for me.

It only ruins it for those who care for the single player.

Its all about multiplayer for me and many others

I'm pretty sure this comes under spoilers...(the thread, not what I'm about to say...well that too)

It's the international space station - that much is certain, no word on how it fits into the story but it seems to be a non-interactive cut-scene similar to that in CoD4
I think there's a reason you and Soap raid an Air Force base in the mountains. Specifically
if you watch the gameply footage from a few E3 events, you plant some C4 on a gas line and raid a hangar, where a satellite... thing is sitting in the center. So, Soap messes with that while you get data. That level is probably AFTER this event.

This is probably like the nuke aftermath mission in CoD4, you probably just walk around in space a bit, and then it happens.
yeah or the intro bit where you are loaded into a car and taken to be shot... although the only way you could cause that much damage to the space station would be to shoot it with a rocket. this must mean that one of the countries (lets face it: this must mean russia) gets antsy with the US and tries to take out their space systems.

if you were going to attack the US targetting their satellites as a first strike would be as logical as targetting their carriers and their air fields. And for that matter the president. (although that would have almost no military advantage, and turn him into a matyr). this fits in with the space station because they fix satellites right?

my money is on us seeing the outbreak of WW3, the APC you saw shooting up american suburbs was a russian one, it follows that the russians may have gone totally insane and attacked the US of A... (yes i know the white house is on the wrong side of the US for a probable russian invasion, but so the hell what? we're talking about russia attacking the US and not nuking washington back to the stone age first...)

PS the astronauths dont have weapons because short of a bow and arrow or sword modern weapons won't operate in space. and they are scientists. and anyone else talking about aliens and MW2 in the same breath will be spanked.

I swear the dude was wearing a spacesuit and no guns, leading me to believe that it was a cutscene.
so far that seems like the most reasonable

I hope it involves terrorists trying to fire missles...FROM SPACE!!! I always think of the last mission of Nightfire when I see that part of the trailer.

so i watched the launch trailer a few days ago and was surprised when i saw the satellite explode and you were there in space.

So what are your guys thoughts about this?
OP, please change the thread title, you're spoiling the game for people.
ok, i did
LOL much better title...

OT, whatthe hell is going on with IW?

Are they trying to make the most OTT, Hyperbolic game ever seen?

Space was a bad idea in Fallout 3 and it's a bad idea here.

Five years from now:

Call of Duty, Modern Warfare Alien Colonisation 2

Someone else pointed this out to me- did anyone else notice how HORRIBLE this looks? (From the trailer. You can pause it yourself to check.)

And on the space thing, pretty sure it's just a cutscene or completely out-of-character sequence.

Maybe it's like in Moonraker where he has a LAZERCANNON :D strapped to his suit?

Childish frivoloties aside, I really do hope it's a cutscene as a battle in space would really kill the story if its a game about MODERN WARFARE.

This is just speculation (I know nothing of what it really is), perhaps they took a play out of the C&C 3 book and terrorists lobbed a nuke at the space station.

Just throwing another theory out there...

I thought the space scene could have been the ?Gunner? level for the game. In COD: MW the gunner level was the AC-130, in COD: WAW the gunner level was the Black Cats. Maybe in COD: MW2 you command some laser interceptor system on a space station trying to destroy missiles before they hit Washington DC, the enemy know your shooting them down then attack the space station directly before continuing the strike on Washington DC.

I know I could be 150% wrong but it?s just a theory.

But hey, we?ll all know the truth soon enough right?
