Ghost. Or psychic. Or dark. Or steel. Maybe bug.
Yeah, I'm that evil and mystic and cool and all that.

But seriously, those types are the best. YAY Gengar!
U mad, "normal" typed pokémon?

I guess I'd break tradition and go with a dual type gym. Focusing on difficult to counter ones like Quagsire.

I would run a rock type gym. My team are-

Tyranitar
Arrgon
Sudowoodo
Armaldo
Relicanth
Golem

If I was the Gym leader in the new region in Black and White
Archeos
Abagoura
Iwaparesu
Gigalith

Also I will speak in my brother behalf. Back in the day when he used to play it, he mention he like the fire type for the most real looking Pokemon (he love Ninetail). I guessing if he was a Fire Gym leader he would have-

Arcanine
Ninetail
Flareon
Blaziken
Houndoom
Infernape

i have to say i would be a water type gym leader but i would be like the 7th gym leader and then id get premoted to the first elite after a while my team i order of how they appear will be; 1 Lombre knowing Astonish, fake out, zenheadbut and hydro pump
2 sharpedo with skullbash, nightslash, icefang and aquajet
3 Kingdra with dragonpulse, hydropump, yawn and rain dance (i chose raindance because it will boost my power plus my lomber will have the water dish ability )
4 Crawdaunt with gullioteen, crabhammer, nightslash, and finally tm28 Dig
5 Lapras with hydropump, sheer cold, thunder and psychic (the thunder wd also be powered by rain dance)
6 Finally my fave :) Swampert !!!! his attacks will be earthQuake, icebeam, hydrcannon and return and it will be holding a focus band :) (not that it would need to use it of course :p )

So, this question has bounced between me and my fanatic buddy:

If you were a Pokemon Gym Leader, which type would you represent?

He was very quick to answer Steel, citing such awesome Pokemon as Scizor, Empoleon, Magnezone, and a few others.

At the time I was first asked, I figured I might be Bug, because even if it was a somewhat weaker Type, I thought that a few of them were individually quite cool (eg: Scyther, Scizor, Pinsir, Vespiqueen, Heracross).

But fast forward a bit and I think that my definitive Type choice would be Fighting.

I don't care too much for Fighting as a pure Type, but most of my favourite characters have a mix type with Fighting. Heracross, Infernape, Lucario, Toxicroak, Poliwrath, Gallade. Besides, I realized shortly after that being a Fighting focused team puts me at an advantage over his Steels. Hard to pick a final "boss" of the team. Infernape, Lucario and Gallade have been unofficial "leaders" of my teams before. I'd guess Lucario would be the biggest ***** of the bunch, so he'd probably be my final.

So, what Type would you be if you were a Gym Leader?
tough call, either ground/rock, fire, or dragon.
Ground: Dugrio, Nidoking(don't know if he is actually ground or fighting, but I use him like he's ground), Quagsire, Golem, Donphan, Flygon.
Fire: Typhlosion, Charizard, Arcanine, Ninetails, Infernape, and another charizard, cuz he's awesome
Dragon: Dragonite, Salamance, Kingdra, Flygon, Alteria(I think I'm spelling it right), and another dragonite.
Note: these lists are with a very limited knowledge of anything beyond gen 3.

Dark, because I'm in an emo mood. Besides, you could dress as a vampire (a real one, not twilight) and your gym could have a cyber/gothic theme going on. And many of the cooler pokemon are dark. I reckon Umbreon would be my toughest one.

Normal. =] I'd use Togetic, Linoone, Tauros, and Miltank. Because they're all awesome.

Well, it's not Bug/Dragon, but they do have Flygon, which is a take on a dragon fly.
As far as I'm concerned, if THAT isn't a dual type, then Pokemon failed most epicly. No other real world animal I can think of could be used as a template for this dual type.

(Captcha: their dseriedi. I think someone laced the captcha's drink on this one.)
Oh, and I just remembered that Yanma/Yanmega are also based on dragonflies and they went Bug/Flying with those ones. So, they've already done it twice, one is Dragon/Ground, the other is Bug/Flying. So close, yet so far.

Probably Dark, since my best Pokemon is Mightyena.
His intimidate is so useful!
I don't know what my other five Pokemon should be, but they should all have intimidate...
